A letter from the editor
I am very excited to announce the continuation of sasha’s love club,I did not publish August or September due to the fact I had many activities, projects, and commitments that took priority and felt as though the effort being put into those editions was subpar. I want to produce only the best, most innovative, and exciting pieces and with those wants comes time. I finally wrangled myself and others back into the mindset that we must only supply work that we feel represents us as individuals, as artists, as visionaries towards a forum we work to create. I hope to foster the creativity that I know flourishes within my peers, and capitalize on the talent that flows so vibrantly through each and every single one of their minds. I work endlessly on expanding the demographic in which Sasha’s love club reaches and I am always open to submissions, suggestions, and pieces to consider for upcoming editions. In this edition I focused specifically on the upcoming event of halloween, I have always loved the idea of halloween because it allows you disguise yourself as some thing you are not this deception is deemed permissible and you transform into anything or anyone you wish to be. Halloween creates a safe haven free from judgement or criticism, it hides aspects of ourselves we keep private and accepts us for who we want to be. Halloween is as beautiful and freeing as it is scary, it is the most enticing holiday. It strips you of your basic qualities and replaces it with desire. I am pleased to produce articles from the history of halloween all the way to divulging into philosophical questions, fashion, music, and reoccurring sections can all be explored in this most recent edition. So by all means, enjoy Sasha’s Love Club October!

1. Witch
2. Zombie
Theres a very timeless aspect about being a witch for halloween, its a classic so of course you won’t be the only one however sacrificing originality is worth it if it means there’s a possibility that you don’t have to look beyond your own closet to indulge in the halloween festivities. All it takes is a simple all black outfit in whatever style you feel most comfortable in, jeans, skirts, etc. Then just a hat! Your personality will really do all the work when it comes to pulling this off! And since I know most of you have really let your skincare routines skip a day or two the authentic wrinkly skin is already taken care of. Nose Jobs are expensive so why not put it on display, who needs conventional beauty when you didn’t plan your costume yet. All in all being a witch for halloween is a very valuable option and is a timeless testament to celebrating this beloved tradition
3. Men in quick add on snapchat
A little rarer than our first option zombie is a common character in haunted houses, memorabilia, SAT testing rooms, 9-5 office buildings and t.v shows. This costume requires distressed clothing, so everyone of you who has ever purchased off of shein should be very comfortable with this look already. You should very confident in this look seeing as makeup will be minimal, the eye bags are most vital, there’s no need to worry about much after that. This costume is sure to be foolproof and a fun look for any age group!
Possibly the most unique and diverse costume you could come up with, these creatures come in all shapes and sizes. They supply entertainment unlike any T.V show, I would personally style this look using a fishing hat, no shirt, sometimes no clothing at all would be most accurate however staying within the constraint of children being present I would keep the shorts and white nike socks. Don’t get me wrong there are outliers, so feel free to match this interpretation to your own personal experience. Specializing the costume using a specific example is what I would recommend. With these three options you’re sure to be the talk of the town
3 easy after-school snacks
With school starting back up again comes more work, stress, and less time. One our most important routines becomes mangled and we do not have time to adjust our eating schedules around every other commitment we make, to lend a bit of a helping hand here are three easy snacks to make after school

How much of what we see is who we are?
Recently, a question has been repeating. This question is quite tiresome to find an ample response for, this questions burns and mocks every time I attempt to address it. Truthfully I didn’t notice any power imbalance between me and my electronic devices until 2020 and I was forced indoors with no way to cure boredom. Like most I resorted to immersing myself into an online community, the internet serves as forum of both good and evil. It manipulates emotions, portrays dishonesty as absolute truth, and remains home to those afraid of conversation supplying them with confidence and filling their lack of self- esteem with nothing but superiority. The internet also amplifies voices that might otherwise not be heard, it answers almost any question with many perspectives, and it creates connection for those in isolation. We see the positives and negative’s, but what aren’t we seeing and why can’t we stop scrolling?
Most importantly we must address algorithms, algorithms run our lives behind the scenes. They do all the research, data collection, and filing that not only provide us with things that relate to our internets but also infringe upon our privacy and create an illusion of a person we possibly want to be not one we are. Time and time again the internet has created fashion trends, exposed celebrities, and preyed upon consumers. The reason I mention social apps and online websites so frequently is because i’ve found an observable effect of their trickery. Social cliques and styles have existed long before instagram and snapchat, groups thrive off the idea that their interests, hobbies, clothing, and music are all better than those around them. Everyone is guilty of self-riotousness regardless of if they’d choose to recognize that or not. When befriending people we subconsciously assess what qualities they have that we consider valuable and then treat them accordingly to their reflection of ourselves. The worst enabler of mental instability through appearance is yes, you guessed it social media! When an internet niche is created it pushes a stereotype to an extreme, it begs the question of is this who i am? or is this really just who everyone else is?
It’s easy to fall into a rabbit hole of influences, your friends, your feed, your culture. The product of tiktok or instagram fashion trends is lack of individuality and loss of self expression. If we all were to go into a store without paying any attention to what’s trending a complete disconnect from all outside influences we’d be wearing an accurate depiction of who we are as a person. Often times many disregard the idea of self expression through clothes, so possibly in the lens of music, would you know or care about half the bands you listen to without tiktok playing them over and over as you scroll? would you have ever picked up a colleen hoover book without the six girls recommending the same work of hers in the span of 2 hours? Unsubscribing from mainstream things doesn’t make one different or important, but it helps you to connect with your true personality and forget how you want to be perceived and start perceiving life without limitation to aesthetic.
Since this months theme was horror this was a perfect choice! In all seriousness Lolita is one of my favorite books due to the psychological factors, I by no means believe this book romantic nor innovative. Its sickening, that’s what it’s meant to be. Throughout the story we see glimpses of Deloreses childlike qualities and manipulation she’s faced. We feel Tricked, hurt for her, and helpless. This book opens your eyes to just how deep the process of grooming runs and the intention behind it all, its an intricate process and one that is not swayed by morality or reason. I strongly recommend reading this book while your in high school without treating it as a love story.
JUST KIDS
Just Kids by Patti Smith is one of the most romantic and artists works ever written, she captures her and Roberts angst in such a beautiful manner you forget they’re struggling with much more than just their visions. They treat life as through they were meant to live, they were chosen to explore every street and walk into any room regardless of invitation. The bond the share with each other, god, a blue star, and art is unlike any other. I would recommend reading this book a thousand times over, any of you can barrow my copy at this point.
THE MYTH OF SISYPHUS
A lot more philosophical than the other two however insanely brilliant none the less is The Myth of sisyphus. The commentary Camus provides on the ideas of living are unique and common all at the same time, the manipulation of word choice makes us ask ourselves questions we otherwise would be too scared to. It forces us to branch out and question why we choose to do what we do in our fleeting moments.
