MISSION STATEMENT
Saint Pius X School serves God in communion with the Roman Catholic Church by fostering moral, social, and intellectual growth within a college preparatory setting to teach young people to be ethical leaders in service to others.
INTRODUCTION AND ACCREDITATION
Albuquerque, located at the foot of the Sandia Mountains, has a metro area population of approximately 978,000 It is the home of the University of New Mexico, Sandia National Laboratories, Kirtland Air Force Base, and many high-tech and aerospace industries Its inhabitants enjoy a blend of Hispanic, Anglo, Native American, African American, and Asian-American cultures
St Pius X is an independent Catholic, co-educational, 6-12 grade College Preparatory school; it is accredited by Cognia through WCEA Fall 2025 enrollment is 950 students, whose distributed ethnic makeup is 60% Hispanic, 30% Caucasian, 5% Native American, 3% Asian, and 2% African American
Of its 59 faculty members, 96% have a bachelor’s degree and 58% hold advanced degrees. Pupil/teacher ratio is approximately 16 to 1. Pupil/Counselor ratio is approximately 318 to 1

SPX ACADEMIC LETTERS are awarded to qualified juniors and seniors with a 3 5 GPA or above for four or more semesters (need not be consecutive semesters). A 2nd year pin is awarded to those who complete two more semesters before graduation.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY eligibility requirements: To apply for membership in the St Pius X Chapter of the National Honor Society, a student must be a Junior or Senior and have a cumulative GPA of 3 5 or higher The student must be able to demonstrate Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character The student must have all required Service Hours and turn in the application by the due date specified
COMMUNITY SERVICE LETTERS are awarded to students who perform 120+ hours per school year Students may receive one Community Service Letter and one pin for each additional year of service (1 letter and 3 pins in total)
AP® and Honors Courses are offered to approved applicants who have natural ability accompanied by a strong desire for academic enrichment and college-level coursework These classes demand more creativity, critical thinking, independent research, and written communication than the standard St Pius X college preparatory curriculum Students must apply and be approved for these classes
St Pius X High School policy requires all students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses to sit for the May examinations Of the 368 tests taken by 187 students in the Spring of 2025, 14% of examinees earned a score of 5; 35% earned a score of 4; and 38% earned a score of 3. Recognition given by the College Board: 18 AP® Scholars; 19 AP® Scholars with Honors; 29 AP® Scholars with Distinction; 10 AP® Seminar and Research Certificates; AP exam Average score: 3 5 Our school had 11 AP® Capstone Diploma recipients
