URBAN INFILL “Stacked filling for the emptiness Mixed Use / Music Store / House Third Year Studio / 2013 Mentor : Budi Faisal, Ir., MAUD, MLA, Ph.D. ABC Street, Bandung City, Indonesia
ABC street is one of electronic center area in Bandung City, consisting of 3-4 buildings with narrow facade. The main objective of this project is to synergize commercial function especially electronic devices such as DVD store and dwelling activities for the tenant on the upper level of building also to make a solution for a new contextual urban infill in ABC street.

DESIGN STRATEGIES RESTORING THE FACADE
Eksisting Condition of Surrounding Site
Site located at the heart of Bandung City which is near to the city square and known as electronic center area. There’s one way road in front of the site and always been dense from 10 AM until 5 PM. Site is surrounded by narrow electronic store mostly 4-5 storeys. Most of them use billboard as their facade.
Minimize the billboard usage and makes unique facade ,but still has implicit visual with context
Further cutback for 2nd and 3rd storey to give stacked impression in order to differentiate from another existing
Even though this building is located in crowded and noisy area, the occupant has to live comfortably inside this building. So, garden & green area are designed outdoor and indoor.

1 WAY ROAD
Seperation of circulation is applied from the very first floor where the house tenant has their own access straight to the third floor through the right and back side of the building. The tenant will experience a stair tunnel and then welcomed by the backyard before they go into the house. Meanwhile for the store guest can access the second floor by the stair inside of building. In the third floor there’s a small dry innercourtyard floored by little stones and a potted trees to give the tenant comfort in the middle of dense area like ABC street. The tree itself has enough height to appear from fourth floor’s void. To guarantee the tree can be live, there’s a skylight right above the void to distribute enough light supply for the tree.

Garden of Ciawitali is one of the solution and driving factor for the development of Cimahi City in aspects such as mobility, functionality and living standard of its inhabitant.
In order to develop the city, Cimahi has to face several issues such as: Increasing Population by 1.55%/year 60.459 Unemployed Persons in 2013 Increasing Poverty by 20% in 2013
Site Location Residentials
The site is located between residentials area and restricted by a river on the south side. Located only 20 minutes from Cimahi Gateway and 10 minutes from Cimahi Public Park. Main access to the site quite narrow but can accomodate two-way transport. The topography itself gives an opportunity to give variable view from certain points.
Not only economic growth being the main concern of process to develop a city, but happiness of the people also needed in order to balance the dynamics of city life.

BRANDING + AREA IDENTITY
+ Steep slopes
Fertile soil with many vegetations
Developing city always be a suitable place to develop entrepreneurship field where demand constantly increasing which means gives many opportunity for entrepreneur.
“How to make an authentic, livable and productive place in order to enhance Cimahi City?
LIVABLE AND PRODUCTIVE AREA IN THE MIDDLE OF NATURE NATURE With the presence of such variant buildings, Garden of Ciawitali is expected to be a lifestyle center that can facilitate the needs of Cimahi society in order to be more productive and to achieve Cimahi as the cyber city. Also, various public functions are expected to be able to accommodate the needs of the community so later it become a public space that always alive in every moment.
Response to the site is implemented through the massing of the buildings and material choice for the buildings that not contrasted with the surroundings.
The circulation is made to be continuous so the visitors is not confused or disorientated.
The natural potential of the steepness of land and vegetation used as elements forming an imaginary space so that the space still felt open and transparent to each other. More exposure of activities from the place makes it more livable for people. All of the facillities integrated in one area and surrounding bunch of space for gathering.
LANDSCAPE AS A GUIDE
The selection of patterns, colors, and materials on landscape is designed to provide direction of circulation for visitors. One of the facillities in Garden of Ciawitali is Rental Office which is located in the south area of the site which is more private.
SYMBIOTIC MUTUALISM Ciawitali itself means bamboo in Bahasa Indonesia. In order to show the identity of the place, bamboo is largely used in the park and bamboo dome.
Placement of different buildings were arranged to provide benefits to one another, but not interfering to one another.

TENGAH TOWN “Planting The Seed for The Future Township / Urban Planning UD AECOM Singapore Internship / 2015 Mentor : Seetha Raghupathy Tengah, Singapore, Singapore
Tengah is an undeveloped area in north of Jurong and west of Bukit Batok Singapore. It is a former military restricted area and it is planned by HDB (Housing Development Board) to be a new housing development. This 670 hectares development area is planned to be a new green concept of township which includes more than 40K units of residential, commercials, healthcare, institutions, etc.
LOCATION The Tengah site is located in the west quadrant of Singapore, north of the Jurong Lake District. Bounded by the PIE on the south-west edge, the KJE on the north-west edge and MRT to the southeast, Tengah is in a prime location to be connected to the rest of Singapore. Maybank Kim Eng was quoted in the Singapore Business Review in September 2013 saying “With convenient connectivity, Tengah’s ~50,000 households will significantly enhance Jurong Lake District’s catchment area”, so the development of Tengah is also anticipated to not only create a community within itself, but also improve the surrounding communities.
As Tengah is currently covered in dense vegetation, the intention is to maintain this lush setting to reinforce the regional green corridor from the Western Catchment (Tengeh, Poyan and Murai Reservoirs) to the Central Catchment areas (including Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, Upper and Lower Peirce Reservoirs).
This green concept ties in with the surrounding nature destinations such as the Singapore Zoological Gardens, Jurong Bird Park and the Chinese and Japanese Gardens.
