Khalab.

DESCRIPTION

A love for the handmade, the authentic, and the unconventionl Those were the main ideas behind this project. This project allowed me to push myself to combine my various interests and talents to provide a set of designs that would capture the attention of Khalab's audience. This included hand lettering in both Arabic & English, collage making, scene setting, and photography. It was a way to ensure that the final images were personal to the client, reflecting their passion for authenticity, as well as making sure it represents the brand in a professional manner.

CHALLENGES

1. The project involved learning multiple new skills like scene setting for photography, the art of journaling, and more.

2. It was challenging yet exciting to link auch a wide set of mediums under one project. It ended up becoming a favorite aspect of mine that I began including in my new projects

3. As the concept was vintage and handmade, I had to make sure to apply it to as many elements under the project as I could. The only part that is digital is the english paragraph in "About".

Video making & editing Copywriting - 2021

DESCRIPTION

For this project I wanted the video to reflect more than just a product. With Greek mythology and cinema being two of my interests, I decided to combine the two in the video so that it can have a backstory. You start the video with a soundtrack from the movie Call Me By Your Name, and get fast glimpses of unboxing the product. Once the product is visible and you see hints and. details of it, clips from the same movie featuring unearthing a sculpture from the sea start to appear. The video is meant to take you on a journey to unearth relics of an earlier time, making the product an irreplaceable antiquity.

CHALLENGES

1. This project involved applying a skill that is new to me and I was still learning. But it was an exciting launchpad to my now a favorite service to provide for my clients.

2. I wanted to capture the attention of Orphic Figure's audience by linking their product to a specific niche and then capturing that niche's interest 3. In order to make the video visually appealing and successful for driving up the sales, I linked it to a backstory that combines Greek Mythology with a popular film centered around the theme of ancient art and antiquities. Their product is a freshly unearthed Greek artifact. A priceless posession

On Plagiarism

DESCRIPTION

This project was a series of articles detailing tips and tricks for entrepreneurs to learn from. The topics were aimed to help one-person businesses and freelancers to be able to navigate the various job aspects that come with being your own boss, besides the main service or product that you are passionate about providing. This specific blog post discusses plagiarism, briefly introducing the reader to and its accompanying terms, as well as advising them on how to handle being on the victim end of plagiarism and intellectual property theft.

CHALLENGES

1. I had the responsibility to deliver proper and correct facts and terms to the audience. It was an exciting way to share my passion for learning new things with my audience

2. While the topic is very wide, I had to summarize it in a manner that is understandable for people from different backgrounds and learning skills

3. Staying neutral is not easy when it comes to a topic that deeply involves the work I do, but it was an honor delivering the correct terms and definitions to help people who may go through this

The First Things You Should Know About Plagiarism

19
INFO
TITLE

What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the act of using someone's intellectual property and passing it off as yours. It is the theft of someone's ideas or creative works. You might have come across an Instagram account that posts paintings, but something is fish about their feed. You scroll down and check a few individual posts and find that not one painting matches the other in style, in subject, or technique. You know something is off here because the images are far too different to all be the work of one individual. That is plagiarism. There are many more forms of plagiarism that we are all familiar with but perhaps did not know the term for

Intellectual property rights and other terms to keep in mind

To understand the concept of plagiarism better, there are some terms to keep in mind that would help you create your own work more consciously and avoid accidentally taking part in the theft of someone's precious work.

Intellectual property

While property is something that is owned by its holder, intellectual property refers to the intangible forms of property that can belong to someone as a result of creativity. Now this can include several fields including but not limited to written pieces, ideas, patents, artworks, and more.

Copyright

Copyright is the legal right of owning the intellectual property. It is the right to own, distribute, repurpose, and reproduce it. If you took a commercial picture for example, you own the rights to that image and can choose to license or transfer them in exchange for a fee. Now if a magazine was to use that image without notifying you, taking your permission, or buying the rights to use it in their publication, it is considered a form of copyright infringement .

If your work was used for educational purposes and under an official education system, then it would be considered fair use . It is part of copyrights that allow schools and other education entities to use someone's intellectual property for learning purposes.

The sea of gray area

Why is plagiarism not so black and white? why is it instead a huge sea of loopholes that a lot of people out there are not afraid of taking advantage of?

"I'm just trying to practice" is one excuse that we hear when we report a page that posts work almost identical to someone else's. Perhaps they had the mind to tweak it a little bit in order to pass it off as their own. But that still makes it a form of plagiarism and one can be held accountable for it if the original artist decided to take action. They have every right to do that after all "Nothing is original anyway" is probably the most famous excuse for producing new work that consists of parts of other people's work and no original touch or thought from the person who claims it. While it is true that so much has already been created, but there are new forms of creativity sprouting by original thinkers every single day. And a person inspired by what already exists should still respect the boundaries of someone else's creation. Ironically though, we mostly hear this sentence from people who outright copy someone's creation down to the detail, only changing a tiny aspect in one little corner of the artwork.

Call them out. This may be a biased opinion, but the gray area only gets bigger and more confusing the more we allow people to get away with these actions. The first step is to be protective of your work. After all, if you've created something, you are the first to know the time and effort you have gone through to produce it, and protecting it will not only send a message of consequence to people who try. to plagiarize it, but it will also encourage other creatives to be more protective and proud of their creations.

DESCRIPTION

I started taking pictures when I was fourteen years old, around the same time I watched That 70s Show and other sitcoms and movies with iconic feminine characters that stuck with me to the day of the photoshoot, thus giving me the idea of showing that soft and girly femininity in the way we used to idolize it back in the early 2000's. The shoot features pink reflections and holographic materials for that dreamy look, sort of a Pimp My Ride but for girls and our false lashes.

CHALLENGES

1. This was the first time I get hired to take a big bulk of photos. It was a great opportunity that taught me to work faster while keeping my creativity and high qulity work intact

2. It was a new service at the time but it served as a launch pad to yet another one of my favorite services

3. It was challenging yet inspiring to come up with a creative idea that breaks the box

A logo that is backed by a symbolic story and exudes the pride of starting from scratch in Dubai. These specifics were the core of this project. With the burj being the main focus, I went ahead and took the base of the building as my main inspiration. This was a challenging project at first, but went on to be the launch pad to my newly acquired skill of backing up my designs with a profound story.
