Fit ‘n 50 Club This program is complimentary to Kroc Center members 50 years or older. n Mondays Non-members are welcome to attend for free. Check in at the Welcome Desk and sign the roster at the Club Check-in Table prior to participation.

As part of the Kroc Center’s community outreach program anyone 50 and older can sign up for a Free Fridays Card! Take the tracking card to any qualifying activity listed on the card and have your instructor initial it - please note that fees apply to non-members for most activities. Participants must attend 3 of the approved activities each week to be eligible to take home free bread, which will be available that same Friday from 9-11:30am. Anyone who did not attend 3 classes per week can pick up bread at 11:30am.

Registered Fitness Class TAI CHI

Tai Chi was tested and effective in decreasing the risk of falling, and improving functional balance and physical performance among persons aged 70+.

Tai Chi for Beginners - A slow controlled way to relieve stress and develop muscle while increasing range of motion without pain. A great class for anyone, from those with special needs such as shoulder, back or knee pain to older adults who want to improve their balance.

Adult Drop-In Activities SILVERSNEAKERS® CLASSIC Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living.

Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.

SILVERSNEAKERS CIRCUIT ®

Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for standing support, stretching and relaxation exercises.

SILVERSNEAKERS® YOGA SilverSneakers Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses.

Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. Pictured above.

THE WALKIE TALKIES CLUB - Check in at the Fitness Desk for your walking tip for the day and use the new indoor track on the top deck.

YOGA - Yoga works towards stress reduction, relaxation and increased range of motion in all major muscle groups while enhancing strength and flexibility.

Zumba® Gold - Zumba® Gold is a class for beginners.

FITNESS EVALUATION - Mem FREE, Non $60/ sessionThis evaluation consists of core strength, endurance & flexibility, body composition analysis and blood pressure. You will receive an individual consultation explaining your results, what they mean, and help you set fitness goals.

BALANCE ASSESSMENT - Mem FREE, Non $5/session (+ day pass fee). If you have difficulty with balance or are looking to maintain good balance, we offer ways to strengthen balance at any age. The results from this assessment will give our staff information to suggest programs that will be beneficial for you to utilize. Encouraged for older adults, ages 50+.

For Members Only EQUIPMENT ORIENTATION A complimentary appointment, one-on-one with someone from our fitness staff. Learn to use the equipment for both strength and cardiovascular training. Our staff will also suggest modifications or any physical limitations you might need for safety.

For ages 16+.

Follow-up - This appointment can be made six (6) weeks after your initial orientation to add additional exercises to your routine and refresh your memory on the original exercises provided.

Preva Precor, Inc. - The app. is free on iPhone and Android. Once you set up an account and log in on a Precor machine in the Kroc Center you will be able to track your progress, set goals and participate in future incentives and competitions.

Expresso Bikes - Create an account by using your phone number and adding a 4 digit password finish the registration process. Look for upcoming challenges and incentive programs starting in January 2018 that could involve racing against other countries, states or fitness facilities here locally in the Omaha area.

Cybex Strength, Inc. - Download this app. on your mobile device and use the QR codes on the Eagle NX or Prestige VRS of strength training machines to get free demos of how to use the machine with proper form and get free fitness tips.

Cybex Bravo Workout Guide - this app. provides different exercises and the proper positioning of the guide rods to give you perfect form for your height.

KrocFit App. - gain all the benefits reaching, maintaining and tracking your heart rate. The Accuro Heart Rate Monitors can provide you with the ability to reach your desired health & fitness goals. You can either purchase or rent HRM (Heart Rate Monitors) from the fitness desk.

Heart Rate Training (HRM) - are available at the fitness desk! Your first rental will be $15 which includes the monitor and a chest strap. The HRM will required a driver’s license or photo ID that will be held until the monitor is returned to the fitness desk at the end of your workout. The chest strap is yours to keep for personal use each time you rent a HRM. Additional rental of a HRM will be $5.00 per visit.

INDOOR TURF FIELD USE

ADULT: LUNCH HOUR PICK-UP BASKETBALL & SOCCER The gym will be available throughout the week for adults to play pickup basketball or soccer. Drop by and get in the game!

Soccer, flag football, sport camps andcompetitions are a few of the happenings you’ll see on the Kroc Center’s Indoor Turf Field. The indoor turf field is free for members; for Non-Members $10/ adults and $8/youth. Specific hours on the field are reserved for member and guest use – view the bulletin board outside the gym for details.

AQUA-JOINTS Enjoy a gentle workout designed to help individuals with arthritis and those recovering from surgery or those just starting an exercise program.

DEEP WATER WORKOUT This cross training class is a combination of shallow and deep water jogging where you will get all of the benefits of running without all of the impact on the body. (Flotation belts used for the deep water portion).

SUNRISE SPLASH This shallow water exercise class will tone your muscles and strengthen your cardiovascular system.

Pottery Classes POTTERY Ceramic Sculpture - In this course, you will explore using clay. You will carve, mold, model, sculpt and glaze to create fantastic animals, whimsical houses, hilarious characters, and whatever else you can imagine. This class will be cover the basics of working with clay and is for any student curious about the ceramics process.

Handbuilt Pottery - You will learn many different techniques to build functional pottery by hand, such as how to make pinch pots, coil pots, slab built pieces and molded items. You will be able to see your pieces from beginning to end, and take home finished products at the end of the course. This intermediate course is for students who are ready to concentrate on the techniques of creating finished functional pottery.

Wheel Thrown Pottery - You will learn the challenging, yet rewarding, art of wheelthrowing.

This mesmerizing technique requires patience and diligence, but is very rewarding. You will learn how to create bowls, mugs, and plates on the wheel, as well as trimming and glazing your final pieces. This advanced course is aimed for students comfortable with clay and ready to learn or improve on the wheelthrowing process.

Performing Arts

Open Studio is not a structured class but an opportunity to work independently on art projects of your choice. Staff is on hand to offer advice and assistance. Materials are available for your use or you can bring your own. Open Art Studio is available to individuals ages 6 & older.

Kroc Crooners - Join us as we spend time together singing as a choir and learning good vocal technique.

This choir is open to any adult. Even if you have never sung in a choir before we have a place for you.
