Klub Emir Abdel Kader u Alžiru je izuzetak među ultamuževnim klubovima u svijetu fudbala. To je ženski fudbalski klub koji se protivi tabuima i ograničenjima patrijarhalnog alžirskog društva. To je jedinstveno mjesto gdje se žene iz svih sfera života sastaju, igraju i napinju da pobijede u onome što Alžir uskraćuje ženama: autonomiji, profesionalnom napretku i prihvatanju ženskog tijela. One su prve koje iskoračuju iz tamne i nasilne historije modernog Alžira, ulijevajući nadu u srca budućih generacija. Julien Dubois je francuski režiser i novinar. Autor je nekolicine dokumentaraca za poznate TV kuće (ARTE, France 2, France 3, RTG). Njegovi dokumentarci uglavnom istražuju historijske i socijalno angažirane teme. Fodil Chabbi je francuski scenarista i reditelj. Bavi se podjednako igranom formom i dokumentarnim filmom. Film GREEN GROUND GIRLS je njegova druga saradnja sa Julienom Duboisom (godine 2006. realizirali su film BARRIO ADENTRO).

It is a women’s soccer club that defies the taboos and the constraints of the patriarchal Algerian society. It is a unique place where women from all walks of life meet, play and fight together to conquer what Algeria refuses to women: autonomy, professional achievement, and the acceptance of the woman’s body. They are pioneers stepping out of the dark recent and violent history of Algeria, shedding light to the heart of the future generations.
Julien Dubois is a French director and journalist. He is the author of several documentaries for famous TV’s (ARTE, France 2, France 3, RTG). His documentaries mostly explore historical and socially envolved topics. Fodil Chabbi is a French screenwriter and director. He equally does feature and documentary films. GREEN GROUND GIRLS is his second cooperation with Julien Dubois (in 2006 they realized BARRIO ADENTRO).
