The goal of this project was to create a booklet inspired by the history of the typeface. I am a fan of sans serif fonts so I decided on Helvetica. I had to include the name of the typeface, the typographer that designed it, the year it was designed, the type classification, the full alphabet in uppercase and lower case, a paragraph about its history and any interesting facts, and a sample of body and headline type. Something that I wanted to keep in mind when designing this booklet was that Helvetica is the official font of the New York Subway so I was set on making the booklet that theme. I had initially made the booklet colorful because I wanted to use the colors for the different lines. That ended up looking messy and all over the place so I decided to stick to red and different tints of red and some yellow for some contrast.
