%,*=.*> We have seen unprecedented change across our business in the last few years. This has needed amazing agility, to allow us to be at the forefront of supporting client needs. At the same time, we have been adopting new technology, responding to the need to work differently along with adapting to changes in our business portfolio.

This has required the need to alter our working practices and rethink the way we work as teams.

As we push ourselves to find quick solutions and resolve client needs and projects at pace, this can become both our advantage but can also limit how we share information around our division. In moving to meet client demand, we often miss collaborating and sharing internally, how we meet priorities or overcome obstacles to drive performance just gets done and completed. This creates, at times duplication, wasted effort and prevents us developing as a business by not sharing ideas/working practices, by not shouting about our successes, and by focusing on what's only on our radar, our contracts, which drives silo working and insular thinking.

This is what ‘a shared voice’ is about. It’s about showing learning on how contracts work, how contracts develop across their lifecycle. It's about building a stronger community, to learn from each other, develop peer to peer thinking. We need to work together, to share ideas and consider what our customers need from us, not only for today, but also what they will need from us tomorrow.

A critical part of our development as division has been to develop adherence and engage in standardised ways of working. This supports driving efficiency and minimising duplication. The nature of our operations requires the need for governance and control measures and the mitigation of risk. This is critical to ensure that the way we work sets us out in our contracts, creates assurance from our clients and supports risk management. This is about how we need to work as a brand and how it protects all those we work for and with. This is the cornerstone of all the work we have been doing. The opportunity is now to really grip this and fully engage with a reset of the G4S Way and we can all do this through working together and sharing what we do and how we do it – we will do this together and with a shared voice.

As part of this we need a start the principle of learning from each other and sharing models and best practice, this work brings a reset to the G4S way.

This initially started as an operational leadership project and has grown into the way we work. We now need to grab this further and reconnect with this.

The G4S way, built for the business, by the business is now with our leadership standards. Together we will use these to ‘reset’ the way we work to create our future and drive business performance, through shared priorities and alignment on how we work.

Through this we will together challenge the art of the possible and build a future fit proposition for our clients.
