REFLECTIONS AND GOALS SUMMARY

100 HUDSON STREET, NEW YORK, NEW YORK

Key takeaways from the semester:

• Based on my research this semester, particularly from my case studies, space planning and aesthetics are important considerations that I need pay attention to for my next semester.

• I also received feed back from classmates that sustainability is an important consideration which I hope to incorporated LEED-thinking strategies in the design of the project next semester.

• I received feedback from guest critics reminding me that fabric, finishes and furnishings will be a very important design decision when designing the hotel since I picked a fashion designer as my inspiration/topic for the project.

• I discovered that the neighborhood is a very important consideration when picking the project site, for many different reasons, such as the target group, and many neighborhood characteristics.

• While doing research for the project it became evident that the hierarchy of spaces for the main public spaces is a very important design consideration since I will be incorporating many different spaces for different functions (i.e.

Retail, Restaurant, Lobby, Rooftop, etc)
