So I hope you’ll sit right back and enjoy this tale of CP’s Gilligan’s Island the Musical.
I want to thank each and every one of you reading this for your support to Community Players of Southwest Wisconsin. Without you, the show wouldn’t go on! It’s been 22 years and 37 shows since CP took to the stage and performed Godspell in 2000. Today, we bring you Gilligan’s Island the Musical. This has been a long-awaited show (thanks COVID!) and I’m so thrilled and honored to have directed it. The cast and crew have been working extremely hard to bring this classic TV to life. The songs are fun and catchy. The dances are wonderful to watch. It’s hard not to get up and dance along!

Island Castaways Things I Never Said (Reprise)
This has been a year of firsts for CP by adding a Saturday matinee instead of a Friday night show. Also by adding in commercials that showcase our phenomenal businesses here in Richland Center. Again, without them, CP wouldn’t be the wonderful group that you have come to know and love.

While Lance Maloney is no stranger to the Community Players stage, or the stage in general, this is the first musical he has done for Community Players. He’s ecstatic to be able to portray the Professor. In the past he has portrayed The Monster in Frankenstein, big zombie in Night of the Living Dead, Gertrude Esterworth/ Roger in Murder at Coppersmith Inn, along with a multitude of other roles, though no other has spoken quite so intellectually and eloquently. He hopes you enjoy the show and have some hearty laughs.
Cameron Cormican is a veteran of community theatre, ever since his first role in The King And I at ten years old. Since then, he has played many diverse roles in such plays as Of Mice and Men, The Miracle Worker, Showboat, and recently performed in the UW-P Richland show St. Joan. Gilligan’s Island is a particularly challenging show, with Cameron performing double duty as both assistant director as well as performing as Skipper Jonas Grumby. Outside of the stage, he enjoys classic movies and obsessing over Doctor Who.

CAST
Az Bohl Greetings and salutations! I am Az Bohl and I am the eldest of 5 amazing kids! I live on a farm in Hillpoint, WI, but in a few weeks I will be moving to UW-LaCrosse to study Recreational Therapy and minor in musical theatre. I will be joining the drum core in marching band, but I play the trumpet and piano too! I have been in dozens of productions since I was little and you may have seen me flying across the stage as Peter Pan or screaming “Let it be known that I am an ass!” as Dogberry in Much Ado about Nothing. I also just won a Jerry award for my role in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. As the eldest and supreme leader, I have been starring in and directing plays and musicals in our yard, treehouse and on the coffee table in our living room my entire life. My family’s adventure goal was to get me to 48 states before I graduated and we succeeded! We hop in our adventure van and camp under the stars in National parks, on mountains, and on beaches. Wish me luck on my next adventures!

Glen Dunne is a native of Chicago, but is now living in Richland Center, Wisconsin. Glen has been involved in several productions with Community Players of Southwestern Wisconsin, and at UW Platteville/Richland. To Glen acting is a great way to experiment with a whole host of emotions without getting people angry at him… (well not too many people anyway.) Glen has NOT performed with Michael Ryan Flatley and was NEVER in “Riverdance”OR “Lord of the Dance”. Glen is proud to work with Director Amy Rohn and Assistant Director Cameron Cormican and the amazing and talented young people (that means you too Sharon Z) that make up this performance.

Josalyn “Josy” Bohl Bonjour! I am 15 years old and live on a farm with my parents, my four siblings and many international students in Hillpoint, WI. I attend Reedsburg Area High School and I love the arts, band, choir, theatre, and I have been acting and singing since my first Missoula children’s production at the age of 5. I am studying language and speak ASL, English, French and Spanish and will be attending UW-LaCrosse to obtain a TEFL teaching degree and live abroad as a language educator. I am very close to my siblings and together we have adventured across America, participated in plays, musicals, marching band and tons of clubs and volunteer organizations. We are even all going to the same college and living together! I love being an international host sister and my family has hosted 12 students so far. I love learning new cultures with my family!
Nathan McDougal
I have enjoyed my experience as Gilligan and the lighting designer. I normally write these in the 3rd person. However, since this has been a very personal experience, I want my following words to reflect that. I’ve been involved with theater since I was 9. I first got involved with Community Players of Southwest Wisconsin in 2013 and have done a lot since then. I’ve been an actor, tech crewman, lighting board operator, lighting designer, and director. My favorite shows with this community include, The Miracle Worker and Death of a Salesman. This will be my last show (at least for a while) with a community near and dear to my heart. I will be moving towards the La Crosse area to seek other adventures. I would not have developed any sort of acting skills without this wonderful theater community. I’m thrilled to be wrapping up my experience with this community with the leading role. I would like to thank Brandon Merkle for teaching me how to light a show. I would also like to thank Andrew Sharp for teaching me how to properly act, as well my friends and family for their continued support. Since this is the first big production I’ve done since the passing of my father, I’d like to say, “this one’s for you dad.”

Sharon Zales has been a part of the theater scene for a very long time. So long that there are too many productions to list individually but she is very happy to be wearing many hats for this latest Community Players production. She is particularly excited to be working with a very special group of young people on the commercials. It is satisfying to her to see a new generation becoming part of her theater family. Many thanks to all the volunteers helping to make this production a reality Thank you to director Amy Rohn for all her hard work. And thank you to the audience without whom none of this would be possible!

CAST

She has won awards with her pigs and horses including National Champion Tamworth Gilt and Barrow and Grand Champion Gilt at the Wisconsin State Fair, Third Junior Showman at Team Purebred National Pig Show. Annabeth enjoys arts and crafts, sewing, riding horse and baking and is in Competitive Dance with Dance Elite.

Ron Fruit has been a fan of Community Players since the beginning and has been blessed to interview and become friends with so many talented CP actors through the years on WRCO Radio. Ron hopes you’ll enjoy the show and be willing to laugh and applaud enthusiastically right along with him.

Aundrea Nundahl as an Alien. Aundrea, 13 years old, is entering 8 th grade this fall and resides in Richland Center. Aundrea takes the Community Players stage for the fourth time in Gilligan’s Island: The Musical. Aundrea also has a lengthy list of performance credits through UW-Platteville Richland Coppertop Theater: Frankenstein (2017), Anne of Green Gables (2018), Showboat (2019), and Legend of Sleepy Hollow (2021). When she’s not on stage she enjoys, trying new things; continuing to learn the drums; loving her pets; drawing; going to the pool; and volleyball.
Jessica Carlson Gilligan’s Island the Musical is the third Community Players production she has acted in. She previously acted in The Miracle Worker (2018) and Miracle on 34th Street: The Play (2015). Jessica also participated in several RCHS productions including Guys and Dolls and Hillbilly Reunion. She is excited to return to the stage. Jessica is happy to be sharing the stage with her niece, Fiona.
Hello! My name is Talena Sprecher. I am currently 17 and I will be a senior at Ithaca High School in the fall. Besides acting, I also enjoy showing livestock and being involved in several clubs and extracurriculars including FBLA, FFA, forensics, NHS, and 4H. I have acted through the Southwest Community Players since my first role as Susan in Miracle on 34th Street and have enjoyed every minute, especially the “family” have gained along the way. My latest role was Barton in Murder at Coppersmith Inn. I’m super glad to be a part of this amazing cast in this production of Gilligan’s Island! Hope you enjoy the show!

Maeve Hanson is excited to make her stage debut in the commercials during Gilligan’s Island. She is 11 years old and going into 6th grade at Richland Center Intermediate School. She enjoys fashion, camping, dance, gymnastics and is an avid alpine ski racer.

Micah Meyer is 12 years old and attends the Richland Middle School. His parents are Ryan and Heidi Meyer. Micah caught the musical and acting bug when he was cast as Winthrop in the Music Man in the Spring of 2020, unfortunately the show had to be cancelled due to COVID. He then got his opportunity to perform in front of an audience this last Fall as the little brother to Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun by the Richland Center High School. Micah is involved with 4H and soccer in the community. He enjoys playing and singing along to musicals at home along with annoying his 5 siblings as much as possible. He hopes that you enjoy the performance!
Kathryn Bohl It’s me, Kathryn and I am 8 years old and the youngest of our acting family. I live in Hillpoint on our farm and I have many brothers and sisters. I am cute and naughty, always full of enthusiasm and mischief. Acting since 5 like my siblings, I love the arts too, caring for my animals and taking wild adventures on our farm. I am the friendliest one and make friends everywhere I go and I go LOTS of places! I have been to 48 states and a ton of cool National Parks and I love camping and playing on ocean beaches. I am learning to play the drums, saxophone, and piano and have to keep up because all of my siblings play lots of instruments.

My name is Allen Maly and I play the bass guitar in the musical. I will be a senior at Riverdale High School this fall where I play the trumpet for the high school band. Other than the trumpet or bass, I also practice the guitar, piano, and mandolin as I am fond of many things music. My name is Alivia Sturdevant, and I play drum set. I am a Junior at Riverdale High School, and this is my first time playing in a pit orchestra.
ORCHESTRA & CHOREOGRAPHER
Andrew Sharp has done most of the things you can do in theater. He has written plays, acted, directed, produced, done makeup, designed and help build sets, designed and help hang the lighting, and swept the place out at night. But until now, he’s never played in a stage band. Thank you to Chris Simonson and all my band mates! I’ve really enjoyed it!
Chris Simonson (Orchestra Pit Director) has been involved in Community Players since its inception having directed, acting on stage, and served as music director, vocal director, and pit director. Following his retirement from Riverdale, where he taught band, directed plays, coached several sports and began the Leo Club, he now hosts “Saturdays With Simo” on Saturday afternoons WRCO Radio. Thank you to all the cast members and pit musicians for your efforts.
