In my leisure time, I like to photograph the things that give me happiness and also film videos of everyday moments and creating montages. I occasionally like to paint and cook. I also enjoy going to the gym everyday, it helps me take my mind of off things and destress.

LAKESIDE ABODE

Architecture Design Studio II

Type - Residence

Area - 463 sqm

Location - Manipal, Karnataka

The bungalow is designed for a joint family of five, including grandparents, parents and a daughter. The design emphasizes on creating distinguished interior spaces tailored to the unique needs and preferences of each family member while maintaining a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing facade. The concept was to incorporate modern design while maintaining the coziness of a home.

The site is located just a few metres from the picturesque Manipal Lake. The design aims to provide the family with leisure spaces overlooking the lake. The lake is located north of the residence, which provides perfect views during dusk and dawn without compromising thermal comfort.

Initial Sketch

The initial sketch aims to balance the individual privacy of each member by segregating the public spaces on the ground floor and private spaces on the first to create a harmonious and modern family home.

Architecture Design Studio V

Type - Commercial Shopping Complex

Area - 10500 sqm

Location - Mangalore, Karnataka

The design of the shopping complex aims to combine sustainability strategies, modern architecture styles, and neighborhood involvement to create a vibrant and enjoyable shopping experience for its users. The primary facilities within the mall include a multiscreen cinema experience, a large food court, and a variety of shops.

Vertical louvres on the west and southern facades.

The site is located on a demolished shopping centre, at the heart of the commercial area of Mangalore.

Along with the use of louvres, openings, central skylight and green roofing system, landscaping was also looked after throughout the site.

The use of tall trees with dense canopies in outdoor interactive spaces like at the vendors zone.

GREEN BUILDING SIMULATION

For climate conscious construction, a green building simulation was carried out using Envi-Met, to understand the effect of the building on the urban context. The software uses the three dimensional model of the building with its surroundings to predict how the area would react to the construction of a new building.

The different parameters used for this analysis were wind speed, radiant temperature and relative humidity. To minimise the effects of these climatic parameters, green building strategies were used, like green roof, passive cooling techniques, daylight savings etc.

STUDENT ACTIVITY CENTRE

Type - Institutional

Area - 33300 sqm

Location - Manipal, Karnataka

The Student Activity Centre is a proposed project within the MIT campus of Manipal Academy of Higher Education. The design aims to combine the existing features of the campus with socially edifying and inclusive spaces to create a holistic student interaction experience.

The site is located inside the MIT Campus and is currently being used as a cricket ground and athletics ground by the students. Surveys were carried out among the hostel students to find out their needs for a social interactive space. The proposal was to refurbish the existing features of the area and incorporate the spaces from the student survey analysis.

Use of louvers to minimise heat gain, a stepped pattern is maintained to create an interesting facade.

As the site is located on a stepped contour, the design adapts to the site features to create stepped terraces on each floor. These terraces are on the north direction providing glare free daylight throughout the building.

MULTI-SPECIALITY HOSPITAL

Architecture Thesis

Type - Institutional

Area - 16500 sqm

Location - Barbil, Keonjhar

The aim of this thesis project is to make healthcare more accessible and affordable in the rural and suburban regions in Odisha. The design aims to be patient-centric and at the same time, sustainable and environmentally conscious. There is also the scope of filling up healthcare gaps in this region, with respect to emergency and secondary care services.

East Elevation

The hospital is designed as a self-sustaining, climate-responsive healthcare facility that prioritizes patient well-being, sustainability, and adaptability.

The approach road is 12 m wide, which then leads into the internal roads that are 7m wide.

A separate access road is provided for emergency patients, services and doctors and staff.

The entrance is from the northern side, making provision for ample daylight to enter the premises through the double heighted reception lobby.

The building is divided into the 3 zones vertically. The ground and first floor provide daily out patient services and form the OP department. The second floor consists of operation theatres, ICUs, HDUs and other critical care units that make up the semi-public zone. The third floor comprise of all the in patient beds and form the IP department, making it the private zone, accessible only by patients and their caregivers. The OT floor is separated from IPD by a partial service floor, which houses the services and additional IP beds.

The ground floor receives the maximum traffic with respect to the OPDs, emergency and cafeteria. The CSSD and laundry are located on this floor while other services are located in the basement and service floors.

DELF combines storage, seating, and dining in one compact piece. Its versatility allows users to adapt it to different needs throughout the day. The two primary configurations include: A 2- or 4-seater dining table. - Extra chairs that can function as nightstands, shelves, or be stacked away for more storage space.

The design predominantly features a natural walnut tone (Greenlam 5375 SAT Saturno Walnut laminate) with warm wood grain textures that evoke a sense of comfort and modernity. The use of wood laminate complements a variety of interior design themes, from contemporary to Scandinavian.

Type - Residential

Location - Bhubaneswar, India

The residence is located within a gated community, thus limiting the facade modifications with respect to colour palette. Wooden frames are created on the front and back facades using Weathertex cladding. A wooden deck was introduced in the backyard along with landscaping.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP 2023

Type - Residential Interior

Location - New Delhi, India

The residence is located in a diplomatic residential zone of South Delhi. The client brief was to design a modern floating staircase that can also accommodate storage and display cabinets.

The staircase designed consists of wooden planks that are connected using a reinforced concrete stringer that is flushed with the adjacent wall.

The walls of the elevation are cladded with stone to compliment the wood staircase and wood panelling under the stairs.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP 2023

Location - Bhubaneswar, India

The residence is undergoing a refurbishment, the brief was to redesign the staircase well to create a focal point across the multiple floors and redesign the adjoining spaces in harmony with the staircase. FLOOR

Type - Eco Resort

Location - Dehradun, India

The site located on the picturesque hills of Dehradun, posed as the perfect landscape for tourists who want a break from the city. Individual villas were planned for the location, with a community centre and clubhouse. The site slopes to the North, creating beautiful backdrops for the cottages.

The hospital is being refurbished with additional inpatient ward floors, and the provision of a pharmacy at the main entrance to the hospital. The pharmacy is located at the lobby and is accessible by patients from inside and outside the hospital.

This proposed design of a new Hospital on the outskirts of New Delhi, combines functionality, aesthetics and sustainability. The multi-speciality hospital has a cancer care ward with a circular skylight creating an enriching experience for the patients.
