2024 marks 30 years since we first moved to Perch Hill Farm, and what a wonderful journey it’s been! From starting my very own cutting and kitchen gardens to creating the Dutch Yard and filling it to the brim with pots—not forgetting the Oast and Farmhouse garden packed with perennials, shrubs and trees. I can't help but feel (as we all do about our gardens) that they really are all unique. My brand-new book, A Year Full of Pots, is also out in March, and is a celebration of everything I’ve learned over the past three decades. I’ve taken so much joy in recording my favourite varieties and combinations in my garden, for you to try in yours. In these pages, you will find the very best of the best. Everything is picked by me, and then trialled, tested and photographed here at home. 2024 is set to be a fantastic year filled with variety, texture and above all else, colour. I can't wait! As we move into 2024, I am clearer than ever about my two favourite plant groups that need to go into the garden this time of year. The first is dahlias and the second is cosmos, see page 22. I love dahlias for a number of reasons. They’re easy to grow and depending on variety, are ideal for pots, borders and vases. They are good for biodiversity—singles, collerettes and anemone-flowered varieties are loved by butterflies and bees, and they also flower for such a long spell, from July through to late-October.

Our plants are chosen by Sarah and are carefully grown at our nursery in Lincolnshire or by specialist nurseries. All will arrive at the optimum time for planting. See our website sarahraven.com/plantinfo for more details.
We aim to send out all our plants and bulbs at the best time for planting, so your items may arrive at different times. For full despatch information on individual varieties, please see our website. Subject to availability and unforeseen seasonal circumstances, delivery may take longer during peak season. We have suspended taking orders for delivery to Northern Ireland, due to complications with the new customs and plant health controls. We will continue to review and provide updates when we have them.
