Message from Vice President (Academic Development) In fulfilling our mission of achieving academic excellence in a professional context, PolyU is committed to developing students’ generic competencies and nurturing students with all-round abilities. Our students are provided with excellent opportunities to develop lifelong skills, through working with their faculties/ departments on pursuing academic excellence or serving as a member of a student organization, to participating in various kinds of programmes organized by the Student Affairs Office. This publication, SPECIAL Portfolio of Preferred Graduates, records our students’ success stories and all these exemplary students stand as shining examples of our dedication and success in grooming ‘preferred graduates’ and nurturing all-rounded leaders for our society. May we extend our warmest welcome to all our new students and I earnestly look forward to reading their success stories in the later editions of this ‘Star Book’!

Message from the Dean of Students It’s always my great honour to present these fine young men and women who are all with distinguished accomplishment and high caliber in this annual publication. We congratulate them on their success and we are so proud of them! As the achievements of our students are indeed the combined efforts of the teachers and the University at large, I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues for their dedication and concerted efforts in nurturing outstanding students for the professions as well as the community.
