September 2022: Term 3 Issue 2

Book Week Dress Up Day One of the highlights of the school year, Book Week Dress Up Day brought the whole College together, with everyone getting into the spirit of dressing up as a character from a story.

In this issue, we're covering:

Book Week Dress Up College Feast Day Father's Day Week 9 PEN: Building the Resilience of Your Kids Parent Resources

An atmosphere of fun, playfulness and joy filled the College, as students got into character and played the part. Prizes were awarded to students in each year group for best costume.

College Feast Day It was history in the making with the whole College getting together to celebrate our Feast Day with our first whole College Mass. The rest of the day was dedicated to engaging in fun community building activities - a disco, BBQ lunch, volleyball, badminton, board games, karaoke, basketball, and face painting - there was something for everyone! Our College Feast Day, celebrated every year, is all about celebrating our patron saint and our identity as a College.

Father's Day

On Friday 2 September and Monday 5 September, over 600 fathers, grandfathers and father figures came to the College to share in a BBQ breakfast and liturgy with their children. It was our way of honouring the dads who play such an important role in the lives of our students. You could tell by the smiles on our students' faces that they absolutely loved having their dads and grandads at school.

Week 9 PEN Meeting

Building the Resilience of Your Kids with Kylie Warry In Week 9, guest speaker Kylie Warry spoke to our parent community about building resilience in our kids. Parents who attended came home with strategies to implement at home to help their children face adversity and have healthy emotional management. Our Term 4 PEN guest speaker will speak around the topic of sleep and provide strategies for families to implement to become a smart sleep family.
