HOW DID SANTA SABINA HELP YOU ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS?

My teachers have provided me with unwavering support throughout all stages of my school experience. During my senior studies, my teachers created a positive and productive approach to learning, encouraging students to collaborate and uplift one another allowing me and my peers to make the most of the Diploma Programme. I am also extremely grateful for my peers, especially the IBDP Class of 2022, who were my most valued support system throughout my senior studies.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO THE CLASS OF 2023?

Surround yourselves with those who uplift you, push you and allow you to recognise your potential. Your senior years are a time to be inquisitive and curious. In order to reach your personal best, it is crucial to collaborate and learn from your peers. Working through both exciting and stressful moments with your classmates by asking questions, challenging each other and working together will only make you a stronger and more confident learner.

BEST MOMENT/S AT SANTA?

My best moments at Santa are the lifelong friendships I have formed from Kindergarten to Year 12. Santa Sabina’s focus on community allowed me to surround myself with kind and compassionate individuals who have supported me throughout my senior studies. Santa Sabina has provided me with a well-rounded education, including academics, music, sporting and social justice opportunities. Academic enrichment experiences have allowed me to foster my curiosity and love for learning, and social justice initiatives provided me with a fulfilling and enriched school experience.

Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Sydney.

You cannot even begin to imagine how much you can learn from your fabulously talented peers.

My results would not have been possible without my incredible school experience; the teachers at Santa Sabina are one in a million. They are beyond dedicated and are completely committed to all of their students achieving their personal best. We couldn’t have done it without them.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO THE CLASS OF 2023?

Work with one another because at the end of the day, their success is your success.

I can’t even isolate my best moment at Santa because while having the privilege to be a House Captain and being immersed in the amazing gifted and talented program, I have made lifelong friends I will always treasure.

WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING TO DO IN 2023?

Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws at the University of Sydney or the University of Technology Sydney.

HOW DID SANTA SABINA HELP YOU ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS?

At Santa, the strong support network of teachers and students saw me right through to the end of the HSC. For my teachers especially, their dedication, patience and expertise were second to none. They fostered an environment where making mistakes was seen as an opportunity to learn, asking questions was encouraged, and we could share our thoughts and ideas confidently.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO THE CLASS OF 2023?

Be kind to yourself! It’s so easy to get caught up in an HSC bubble, where we become so concentrated on one mark here or there that we forget to take a step back and reflect on our achievements. Taking just a couple of minutes to slow down and celebrate your successes really helps you stay motivated. And most importantly, enjoy every moment with your Year 12 peers –it’s the good times with your cohort that will shape your last year of high school.

BEST MOMENT/S AT SANTA?

This year’s Dom’s Day celebration definitely emerges as a standout from my time at Santa. It was extremely meaningful to continue the tradition of walking on Dom’s Plot for the first time as a Year 12 cohort, and was a rite of passage I had looked forward to since my early days at the College.

HOW DID SANTA SABINA HELP YOU ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS?

Santa Sabina provided the environment where I could be fully supported by both the IB teachers and the IB cohort to have fun while working together to achieve our personal goals.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO THE CLASS OF 2023?

Year 12 is a lot of work so finding people who you can rely on and who support you for who you are is essential to getting through the year. Reach out for help when you need it and prioritise your mental health over stretching yourself to your limits.

Getting to spend time with some of my best friends both in class and at the Year 11/12 retreat.
