Summer Performing Arts DRAMA CAMPS 2012 (2 Week Day Camps) AN EXCITING TWO WEEK PERFORMING ARTS IMMERSION EXPERIENCE!

Santa Rosa Children’s Theater drama camps are a perfect summer camp learning experience for young performers. We have roles for everyone from brand new to experienced actors. Activities include group games, theater improvisation, rehearsals, and instruction in acting, singing, and dancing (with ample time for breaks on the playground between activities.) Participants make friends, learn new skills, and share their talents in a fabulous show of scenes from children’s stories and musicals. Drama camp provides children with opportunities to shine they will treasure for a lifetime!

DRAMA CAMP SESSION I

In Drama Camp Session One, we’re planning a show highlighting scenes from A Little Princess, The Wizard of Oz, The Phantom Toll Booth, Tales from Far, Far Away (inspired by the Shrek movies), “I’d Do Anything” from Oliver, and “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile” from Annie. Children should bring a sack lunch and morning snack. Afternoon snacks will be provided. Costumes and sets will be provided. In Drama Camp Session Two, we’re planning a show highlighting scenes from Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, “Circle of Life” from The Lion King, and “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid. Children should bring a sack lunch and morning snack. Afternoon snacks will be provided. Costumes and sets will be provided. Min 16 Max 24 Instructors: Bridget Palmer and Caroline Lomba (2 weeks) 7-13 M-F 7/9-7/20, and Sat, 7/21 9:00 am-3:00 pm Performance: 7/21 at 2:00 pm School location TBA $370 (S.R. Instructors: Bridget Palmer, Caroline Lomba, & Tim Kniffin grew up in Santa Rosa acting in local productions. Bridget pursued graduate studies in directing at UCB. She directs Santa Rosa Children’s Theater and performs with 6th Street Improv. Caroline has extensive experience in ballet, modern, and jazz. Tim is a member of the Actor’s Equity Union, holds an MFA in Acting from SMU, and frequently performs in local productions at The 6th Street Playhouse, Cinnabar Theater, & The Sonoma County Repertory Theater Company.
