Students will be given additional information on these classes in student advisement sessions.

NURSING ASSISTANT (NA) CERTIFICATION Students who qualify can participate in the Santa Fe College Nursing Assistant program while they are also enrolled in Adult Education courses. While in this program, students have the academic support of an Adult Education instructor in and out of class. Before taking the actual Santa Fe College Nursing Assistant program, students participate in an Adult Education Nursing Assistant Preparation course. The NA Preparation course provides reading, language and mathematics instruction using health science content. Students are also assisted in meeting the requirements for NA program entry, applying to support agencies to secure funding for the program, and completing the American Heart Association Basic Life Support CardioPulmonary Resuscitation (CPR/BLS) certification. Acceptance in the actual Santa Fe College NA program is based on meeting program entry requirements and securing funding. Assistance will be provided in seeking funding, but students should expect to pay some of the associated program costs.

40-HOUR CHILD CARE CERTIFICATION This course is available in-person and online. Students work on reading, writing, and computer skills while they complete each of the six required classes and prepare for the exams to meet the basic State of Florida requirements for working in a childcare center.

HORTICULTURE/AGRICULTURE ENTREPRENEUR This course teaches reading, language, and mathematics using agriculture and horticulture content. This program is for students who would like to learn the skills to grow, market, and sell agricultural products. Students go to the Grow Hub two days a week for hands-on horticulture activities.
