The Guy Andrews Center was established in 1985, after renovation of the historic Bradford County Courthouse. With increased enrollment, the center now occupies three locations in downtown Starke including the Cultural Building, which also houses the Eugene L. Matthews Bradford County Historical Museum and the Lillian Stump Education Building.
Take advantage of small class sizes and a robust schedule featuring daytime and evening hours to earn your A.A. degree or complete prerequisites for an A.S. degree. The Andrews Center has a full-time advisor and academic support specialist to help you with registration, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other needs. Proctoring services are available for students who need to take the Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) or an exam for any of their online courses.

WATSON CENTER

The Alfred B. Sr. and Agnes W. Watson Center is situated on a 40-acre natural habitat of pine and oak trees known as Watson Woods. This area is often used by students and faculty as an energizing outdoor classroom. With two computer labs and a state-of-the-art science lab, the center also boasts a large High School Dual Enrollment program, allowing students to jumpstart their college education while still in high school!
The Watson Center offers both day and evening classes, which widens community access to educational opportunities. Students can earn an A.A. degree entirely at this location.
Located on State Road 21, and 30 minutes northeast of Gainesville, the Watson Center serves the citizens of southeast Bradford County, offering them an opportunity to receive a college education close to home.

HIGH SCHOOL DUAL ENROLLMENT

This acceleration program at Bradford High School (BHS) allows students to earn college credits while pursuing their high school diploma. High School Dual Enrollment saves the Bradford County community thousands of dollars a year in tuition, fees and books. Last year, eight BHS students earned their A.A. degree before completing high school. The SF Andrews Center advisor assists with providing one-on-one assistance for students as they apply for the SF High School Dual Enrollment program and work toward completion of their educational goals.
Assistance is also provided for the general SF application process. The program assistant will assist with Florida Residency, FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and registration. Call or email to get more information about all the programs SF offers.

Upward Bound provides a robust academic support system including: Saturday sessions, online and inperson tutoring, cultural tours, educational motivation, college visits, summer camp, career exploration, job skills development, financial literacy, social skills development, mentorship, leadership training, growth mindset interventions, advocacy, community service, assistance with scholarships and grant applications,
assistance with college applications and assistance with college entrance exam preparation. The Upward Bound program is funded to serve 63 high school students.

EDUCATIONAL TALENT SEARCH

Educational Talent Search (ETS) provides academic support and instruction, as well as college readiness advising for rural, 9th-12th grade students at Bradford High School. The Pre-Certified College Professional Program provides noncognitive skill instruction through an online learning management system (Canvas).
ETS provides free, round the clock, on-demand tutoring to students through PhotoStudy, a digital application, for all math and science courses. ETS hosts a YouTube
channel specifically for parents where ETS staff film monthly videos for parents providing information related to the program and tips for assisting students at home with their educational goals. Videos are emailed monthly to parents who are interested. ETS also provides a monthly digital newsletter to students. Contact

COLLEGE ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM

The College Achievement Program (CAP) at SF begins each year with a six-week summer enrichment experience that is designed for diverse and underrepresented graduating high school seniors from Bradford and Alachua counties. The CAP Summer Enrichment Experience provides selected high school graduates with fundamental instruction and skills to enhance overall college readiness and success.
Students develop college success skills while also strengthening math, reading and writing abilities. CAP provides daily round-trip transportation for students from Bradford County to attend the Summer Enrichment Program at the Northwest Campus in Gainesville.
CAP participants who subsequently enroll at SF receive supplemental support advising, early-alert outreach, on-campus and community referrals, and personal/ professional development opportunities. Students who successfully complete the Summer Enrichment Experience are eligible to receive one of 40 CAP scholarships.

The Tyree Library is committed to providing equitable access to library materials, programs and services to all students, faculty and staff. Library holdings are accessible 24/7 online through the library catalog, and books and media can easily be delivered to the educational centers. Students have immediate access to college-level eBooks and streaming videos by reliable content providers. Library databases provide millions of scholarly articles to support the research needs of all students. Online guides help students find resources for class assignments, explore subject collections, improve research skills, or just find a good book to read. Library staff are committed to student success and provide assistance, in person, on the phone, via email or chat and by appointment.

GRRATE

Through innovative project-based learning, Guitars, Rocketry, Robotics Advanced Technological Education (GRRATE) helps students gain the skills they need to succeed in STEM fields. This project introduces students who are often underrepresented in STEM to the possibility of high-paying, rewarding careers. Wide World of Science (ISC1006) is a project-based course with three experiential learning project options: guitar building, robotics and rocketry. The semester ends with a field trip to the Kennedy Space Center. This course aims to emphasize collaboration with industry partners to expose students to careers available in STEM fields, and to connect students with industry so they obtain firsthand knowledge of requirements for developing a successful career.

BRADFORD COUNTY INITIATIVE

The goals of Santa Fe College’s Bradford County Initiative are to increase African American engagement with Santa Fe College, increase academic success among African American students at Bradford High School and improve SF enrollment among African Americans in Bradford County.
At the base of the Bradford County Initiative is the Bradford County Initiative Committee (BCIC). The BCIC meets monthly to make recommendations to SF, and to plan for the SF-Bradford Faith Based Partnership. The SF-Bradford Faith Based Partnership is comprised of pastors, educators, business owners and community leaders. They meet on a bi-monthly basis to help

NAVIGATING TO COLLEGE
Santa Fe College also helps students navigate to college by hosting reading circles among educators in Bradford High School to help cultivate a growth mindset within the school setting.

VETERANS AND MILITARY SUCCESS SERVICES

SF has been named a “Best for Vets” and “Military Friendly” school. Veterans and Military Success Services (VMSS) helps veterans and their families pursue their educational goals at SF. VMSS has a thorough understanding of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) educational benefits and can provide helpful information and referrals. The VMSS office also connects veterans with externally organized support services.
The VA’s VetSuccess on Campus (VSOC) program provides on-campus benefits assistance and counseling to student veterans and their qualified dependents. SF is one of only 94 educational institutions with a VSOC program on campus. The goal of VSOC is to support
veterans in completing their program of study, and to prepare them to enter the workforce. The Collegiate Veterans Society (CVS), a local chapter of the Student Veterans of America, helps veterans transition from military to college life and enriches the community by sponsoring patriotic events on campus. CVS promotes and encourages scholarly and social activities, as well as recognition of worthwhile achievements among students, faculty and staff at the college.

ATHLETIC CLINICS
The Santa Fe Saints host basketball and volleyball athletic clinics each spring to engage Bradford County youth in sports, and to promote college-going behavior. The clinics are accompanied by an hour-long informational session on college sports for high school athletes and their parents. Students are served pizza after each session.
