Canyon Road Spring Art Festival Santa Fe Century ride The 2018 Santa Fe Century, in its 33rd year, offers both new and old components for bicyclists of all sorts. Riders can choose between 25-, 50- and 100-mile rides, timed or not. The route for the Century has changed a bit to avoid road construction, but no worries, Heartbreak Hill is still included—up and back down. A new ride this year is a 20-mile, all dirt, out-and-back trek along the Santa Fe Rail Trail. Saturday, the beer garden is open from 4–7 pm, and onsite registration and the Vintage Bicycle Pageant are from 5–7 pm. The 2018 venue is Santa Fe Community College’s west parking lot, with more room, more parking, catering by Cowgirl BBQ, and massages after your ride.—Lisa J. Van Sickle

New Mexico Fiber Crawl The second annual New Mexico Fiber Crawl, sponsored in conjunction with the Española Valley Fiber Arts Center, takes places May 18–20 across various locations from Albuquerque to Taos. This free event winds through cultural centers, stores, and museums, to the farms and studios of local fiber artists. Each site offers discounts, demonstrations, and events, plus the opportunity to meet the artists and learn a new skill or two. Make sure to pick up a New Mexico Fiber Crawl Passport, available at any site or downloadable at nmfibercrawl.org, and have it stamped at each location. Last year, 77 fiber artists in 43 different sites participated in the Fiber Crawl. This year’s immersive cultural experience promises to be even better.—Amanda N. Pitman event
