Prefab construction involves the manufacturing of building components or modules off-site in a controlled environment and then assembling them on the construction site. This method offers several advantages, including efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. It involves the creation of modular components such as walls, floors, roof trusses, and entire room units in a factory setting. These components are then transported to the construction site for assembly.

Sun path is a critical consideration in architectural design, influencing various aspects of a building’s performance, aesthetics, and energy efficiency. Understanding the sun’s path throughout the day and across different seasons allows architects to optimize natural light, minimize energy consumption, and enhance the overall comfort and functionality of the built environment.

Raipur faces harsh summers hence the orientation of building matter the most. designing a building with consideration for the sun path involves optimizing the placement, orientation, and features of the structure to harness natural light, control solar heat gain, and create a comfortable and energy-efficient environment.

Typically, buildings are oriented with the longest sides facing north and south to maximize exposure to sunlight while minimizing direct exposure to the east and west, where the sun can be more intense.

Strategic placement of windows and openings is essential for optimizing natural daylight. South-facing windows allow for maximum sunlight exposure in the northern hemisphere, while proper shading on east and west-facing windows helps control glare and heat gain. The interior layout is designed to make the best use of natural light. Core spaces, such as living rooms and work areas, are typically located along the building’s south side to receive the most sunlight, while utility spaces may be placed on the north side.

SECTION

The importance of shades and shading in sunlight extends across various aspects of our daily lives, affecting both the built environment and individual well-being. Shades play a crucial role in controlling the temperature within indoor spaces. They block or filter sunlight, preventing excessive heat gain during hot weather and reducing the need for air conditioning. This, in turn, contributes to energy efficiency and cost savings. In sustainable and green building design, effective shading is often a key strategy. By harnessing natural resources like sunlight and using shading techniques, buildings can reduce their environmental impact and contribute to sustainable practices. SOME OF THE TECHNIQUES OF PROVIDING SHADES ARE :-

1. Overhangs and Eaves

2. Louvers and Perforated Screens (JALI WALL)

3. Shutters

4. Pergolas and Trellises

5. Exterior/Interior Blinds and Curtain

JALI WALL

: A Jali wall refers to a perforated or lattice-like screen or partition that is often used in architecture and interior design. Jali work is a traditional craft that has been employed in various cultures, including Islamic, Indian, and Moorish architecture. The term “jali” is derived from the Arabic word “jal,” which means “net.”

The defining characteristic of a Jali wall is its perforated or openwork design. The pattern can range from intricate geometric shapes and arabesques to more simple designs, depending on cultural and architectural influences.

Jali work allows for the passage of air and light while providing a degree of privacy. This makes Jali walls practical for regions with warm climates, as they help maintain airflow and reduce direct sunlight.

The intricate patterns create interesting visual effects and can become focal points in a design. Jali patterns can be customized to suit the preferences of the designer or the cultural context of the space. This allows for a high degree of artistic expression and individualization in architectural design.

Prefabrication can involve various building elements, including walls, floors, roofs, and entire modules or sections of buildings. This construction technique contrasts with traditional on-site construction, where components are built directly at the location.

TYPICAL WALL PANEL

Architects are incorporating modern designs into the prefabricated houses of today. Prefab housing should no longer be compared to a mobile home in terms of appearance, but to that of a complex modernist design. There has also been an increase in the use of "green" materials in the construction of these prefab houses.

Designing a preschool involves thoughtful consideration of various factors to create an environment that is safe, stimulating, and conducive to early childhood learning and development. Prioritize safety and security with child-friendly materials, rounded corners, non-toxic finishes, and secure entry points. Ensure that the layout allows for easy. supervision.

Allocate ample outdoor space for play and physical activities. Provide age-appropriate playground equipment, soft surfaces, and shaded areas. Outdoor spaces contribute to physical development and allow children to connect with nature.

A daylight atrium is a design feature in architecture that involves the incorporation of a central open space within a building to maximize the penetration of natural daylight. This architectural element typically takes the form of an open, often multi-story, space with a large skylight or glazed roof that allows sunlight to filter into the interior spaces of the building. A prominent feature of a daylight atrium is the use of a skylight or glazed roof. This transparent or translucent roofing material allows natural light to enter the atrium and filter into the surrounding interior spaces.

Outdoor spaces, such as patios or courtyards, are designed to maximize exposure to sunlight and create comfortable areas for relaxation. Landscaping may be used strategically to provide shade or enhance the outdoor environment.
