change breaks pads if necessary. Mandatory checks before the rainy season start. It is also important to keep both the pads and the braking surface clean from dirt and oil. Dirty pads wear out themselves and the braking surface substantially faster.
Check with Gears To adjust bike gears, start by turning your bike upside down and resting it on the seat and handlebars. Then, shift your bike to the gear that you’re having problems with. If the problem with your bike is that the chain won’t shift down when you lower your gears, turn the cable adjuster clockwise to loosen it.
How to adjust the gears 1. Set the limit screws. With the gear cable disconnected, gently pedal forwards until the chain drops onto the smallest sprocket. 2. Tighten the cable. 3. Turn the barrel adjuster on the derailleur clockwise until it is almost fully dialed in. 4. Adjust the cable tension. 5. Shift it up. 6. B-tension screw.
Frame First, inspect the frame for any damage scratches. While inspecting the frame, you can clean the frame side by side if you have been riding in dirt, mud or wet weather. If dirt gets into your gearing components it can cause scratching and damage quickly. Clean with a cloth and the bicycle can appear like a new one.
