KNEC’s new rules on transfer of CBC learners

here will be no transfer of learners as from May this year when the current Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) pioneer Grade 5 learners will transit to Grade 6, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has confirmed. According to KNEC, the Grade 6 learners will be preparing to sit their National Summative Assessment which will take place at the end of this year.“No transfer shall be allowed at Grade 6 due to preparations for the summative assessment that will be taking place at the end of the year,” said KNEC in one of its official documents on Understanding the Competency-Based Assessment (CBA).
