1 MARKET OVERVIEW The Chemical, Biological, Radiological Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNe) materials when released into environment are considered as Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) and the devices used to detect these materials are called as CBRNe detection equipment. The CBRNe materials can be either weaponized or non-weaponized; wherein weaponized materials can be released using bombs or blast weapons and non-weaponized ones are identified through contamination of food, livestock and crops. All CBRNe incidents can either be accidental or intentional, but both cause high level of human as well as property loss. The CBRNe equipment involves different systems like spectrometers, unmanned vehicles, reconnaissance vehicles, training simulators, emergency and first response systems, radiation detectors, standoff and standalone systems, and hazmat suits and protective clothing. Hazmat suits and protective clothing and training simulators are mostly used by the first responders. The demands for the hazmat suits are increasing to protect the civilians from the Ebola attack. Unmanned vehicles, reconnaissance vehicles and radiation detectors are used by the Special Forces and armed forces. The CBRNe detection equipment are available in systems like portable, handled, mounted and so on. Portable systems and handled devices have high demand among armed forces and first responders. Mounted and fixed systems are used majorly in industries and laboratories. As the threat may be from any of the type, there are devices for chemical, biological, radiological & nuclear and explosive detection. Application of the CBRNe equipment is based on the type of system, type of end user, and the threat type. The report analyses the CBRNe equipment market in various applications and covers the market demand with respective regions. The report also provides a market overview for the CBRNe equipment market. CBRNe equipment market is analyzed using various parameters as shown in the below figure.

The following are the key stakeholders in the CBRNe detection equipment market are:  CBRNe Equipment Manufacturers  Distributors  Material Suppliers  Consumer Services Providers  Educational and Research Institutes

2 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Chemical, Biological, Radiological Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNe) materials when released into environment are considered as Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) and the devices used to detect these materials are called as CBRNe detection equipment. The CBRNe materials can be either weaponized or non-weaponized; wherein weaponized materials can be released using bombs or blast weapons and non-weaponized ones are identified through contamination of food, livestock and crops. As per IndustryARC analysis the global CBRNe equipment market revenue is at $8.2 billion as of 2014, is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 5.1% till 2020. CBRNe equipment has a wide range of applications among different end users such as armed forces, emergency responders, fire brigades, Special Forces, and Commercial & Logistics Security. Due to the increased CBRNe incidents all over the world and because the security is the prime factor for any nation, CBRNe equipment market is the fastest growing market in armed forces and emergency responder’s applications. The commonly used equipment by end users is unmanned vehicles, spectrometers, Hazmat suits and protective clothing, reconnaissance vehicles and so on. The Americas is the leading producer of CBRNe equipment and also has the highest market share in the global CBRNe equipment. In the Americas, the U.S. is the major country in terms of top CBRNe equipment manufacturers and high volume consumption of CBRNe equipment. The xx & xx market is relatively small as compared to the xx; however it is growing rapidly as well with the high CAGR. With respect to the global market, the xx and Europe holds xx% of the entire CBRNe equipment market share. With the release of toxic chemicals from industries whether by malfunctioning or by accidents, the use of CBRNe equipment in chemical industries is increasing to protect the people and the assets. Among the various detection equipment, chemical detection equipment is the major market because the governments are investing more on chemical detectors, by which they can control the long lasting effects of chemical agents. The chemical agents such as; phosgene, hydrogen cyanide and tear gas are majorly used by the terrorists and criminals to attack the people and the nations.

In this report, the market has been segmented by geography as America, Europe, APAC and the Middle East & Africa. Market size and forecast is provided for each of these regions. A detailed qualitative analysis of the factors responsible for driving and restraining growth of the CBRNe equipment market and future opportunities are provided in the 10th chapter of the report.
