Early Career Sandy has held many different positions throughout his professional career. He started as senior counsel for Pfizer, focusing on business development and tax.

Mahatme moved onto Celgene, he held two roles: Senior Vice President of Finance and Senior Vice President of corporate strategic development and initiatives.

At Sarepta Therapeutics In 2012, Sandy joined Sarepta Therapeutics as CFO and Chief Business Officer. He joined the Sarepta team because he wanted to help the company realize its goals to help others with rare diseases

At Sarepta Therapeutics Since starting, he has aided the company in raising over $2.5 billion in financings and valuable business development deals.

Through Sandy Mahatme’s guidance, the company has vastly improved its employee base from 100 to over 700 as of November 2019.

Aside from employee growth, he also helped grow the pipeline to over 40 programs in different development stages and the company’s footprint to 12 locations all over the United States.

Board Positions Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors for Flexion Therapeutics, Inc., Aeglea BioTherapeutics, Inc., and Idorsia Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
