I have been at Sandroyd for 7 years and have nothing but eternal gratitude for the teachers, domestics and ground staff that have all made my experience incredibly rewarding and fun.
In particular I loved sports and outdoor activities and spent most of my time playing football or hockey. On the sports side I made the 1sts for football and 2nds for everything else which I was over the moon with. I have also loved the academics of Sandroyd which are really incredible, having spent most of my life here it was only really Sandroyd who helped me achieve good results for which I am particularly grateful.
I am fond of all the teachers who helped me get where I am. In particular Mr Attlee and his layback-and-the-secondit-becomes-too-loud-STRIKE technique and Mr Lyddon whose expertise really helped me how to understand geography (and rugby).
I have thoroughly enjoyed Sandroyd. Thank you

I joined Sandroyd the summer term of Year 3 and I have loved every minute of my time here. The treasured memories that I have made throughout the years will never be forgotten. Since joining in Year 3, I have taken part in four plays and one showcase, where the performance arts department has helped me every step of the way. My part in Alice In Wonderland was so much fun as I got to play a flower with all of my friends. One of my favourite highlights was being included in the 1st Netball team and going to netball IAPS in Year 8. I also loved playing with the 1st girls cricket team. I will always remember the brilliant opportunities that Sandroyd has to offer. Since Year 4 I have played the flute and done various concerts along the way. I will be forever grateful for the boarding and teaching staff that have made my time at Sandroyd the happiest 5 years of my life. I would also like to thank all the Sisters who have sorted out my bumps and bruises over the years. I am sure I will be back to visit Sandroyd but I am looking forward to the next chapter.

I joined at the start of Year 5 and I will always remember games. Games has always been my favourite thing about Sandroyd throughout my whole time here. I am not the biggest fan of hockey, but I loved cricket, rugby and especially football. Every break or just free time generally my friends and I always played football. I feel that without it I wouldn’t be as attached to my friends as I currently am.
I also enjoyed the boarding part of school. I have been in three different boarding houses: Rockies (this was my first boarding house), Atlas and Himalayas. I am very grateful for Mr Holbrook because he has been my house parent at the start and the end and I’m probably quite annoying in the boarding house and I feel that he handled me very well without losing his temper.
To conclude I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Sandroyd, especially games and boarding, and I would like to thank all teachers, but especially those that have looked after me in the boarding house and those that took me in games.

I arrived at Sandroyd in 2018, joining in Year 3 as a full boarder. I have been in the 1st Rugby, 2nds Hockey and 1st Cricket. One of my favourite memories was scoring the 1st try against Walhampton which was our hardest match of the unbeaten season, this would not have been possible without Mr Irving’s outstanding coaching.
In the Spring Term I completed the Townsend Warner History Prize and came 36th out of 1250 students. This term, I started in the 2nds for cricket but I have played the 5 most recent matches in the 1st team, the highlight being the tight match against Hazelgrove.
All the way through my time at Sandroyd the teachers have striven to improve me in every aspect. This is why I leave for Sherborne a better person than I was when I joined Sandroyd.

I joined Sandroyd in Year 7 and since then it has been nothing but fun. I have enjoyed the Sandroyd sport, drama and art departments thoroughly. The academics have been less good, however the teachers have totally made the difference. I have made tons of amazing friends as well as hundreds of unforgettable memories. I have worked towards Grade 5 drama and played The Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland, which was super weird and wonderful. I also performed in the Leavers Showcase and the Year 7 Showcase. Last term, I went for a drama scholarship, but sadly didn’t make it, although the process was really fun.
I have worked hard in rugby, hockey, cricket and tennis as I had never played them before. I have also tried really hard on the boarding side of Sandroyd life as I came from a day school in London.
One unforgettable memory is when we finished exams, my friends and I played football for around 2 hours non stop. We were all so tired at the end but it didn’t matter. Overall, I want to thank all my teachers as well as the chefs and Sisters. Sandroyd has been an amazing experience. Thank you.

I have been at Sandroyd since the start of Year 4 and my time at school has been an unforgettable journey filled with learning and growth and each moment has shaped me into the person I am today. Sandroyd has helped me with my sport a lot and has introduced me to other sports like hockey and cricket both of which I was in the firsts for. My favourite sporting highlight was when in Year 8 we played Walhampton for the first time and beat them 35-25 through a battle of blood, sweat and tears.
Sandroyd has also improved my preforming arts massively and I completed my Grade 5 Trinity exam and also I have been in several performances: Henry the VII in Year 5, Hamlet in Year 6, the Year 7 Showcase and finally Alice in Wonderland where I played Tweedle Dum. Sandroyd has also improved my academics a lot and its dedicated teachers always helped me in the classroom until a challenging concept finally clicked.
As I move forward into the next chapter of my life, I will carry with me the lessons learned and the memories made during my time at school, forever grateful for the experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today.

I joined Sandroyd in Year 3, and in my time at Sandroyd, sports has been the highlight. My highlight in the rugby term was our match against Dauntseys; we all thought we were going to get destroyed but we ended up winning 8-2.
I also enjoyed our 7 a-side tournament at Port Regis and being coached by Mr Irving. I was also awarded rugby colours with 5 other teammates. In the football term I enjoyed being captain of the As, I also enjoyed our tournament at Milton Abbey where we came second. I enjoyed playing for the first hockey team in Year 7 and 8 where I played striker and centre mid. I was coached by Mr Blomfield both years and am thankful for the opportunity that he gave me to play in the firsts a year young. I also have taken part in athletics where I was in the relay team which came 2nd in the nationals. All these sports have helped me prepare for senior school and have helped me achieve a sports scholarship to Bryanston.
I am really thankful for the support I have received from Sandroyd and am excited to start at Bryanston.

I joined Sandroyd at the end of Year 3, since then I have grown immensely from being one of two girls boarding into a bustling 13 year old surrounded by the life and enjoyment of Sandroyd. One of my fondest memories is when I was a little Year 3 coming back from Walled Garden sessions. I believed that if I ran fast enough, I could take off and fly down the steps; every time I failed Mrs Blomfield told me that next time I would fly. I have not only flown since then but I have soared through my time here. I went from being a clumsy, small 8 year old to being rewarded with a drama scholarship. Another one of my cherished memories is when the girls 1st hockey team did penalty shoot outs against Hanford. As the goalkeeper I vividly remember saving the last flick and all of my friends embracing each other, screaming that we were in the semi-finals of the tournament. That memory will be embedded in my mind forever as it makes me remember the family I have built here. Finally, I would like to thank Mr Arnold, Mrs Langton-Gilks and Miss Iona for teaching me guitar, singing and drama, all of which I will be carrying on with at Sherborne! Thank you Sandroyd for bringing me into your home, it’s one that will stay with me forever.

I have been at Sandroyd for over 6 years now and I have enjoyed every moment of it, from the dorms to lessons to the sports pitches. I have so many highlights and achievements from Sandroyd. One of my best achievements at Sandroyd was getting into the first team for all the sports and being captain of cricket for the girls. I have loved being able to represent the school on the sporting front. My most significant highlight from this was in a hockey tournament when we drew one of the matches and it came down to a sudden death in a penalty shoot out where I scored the winning goal. The teaching at Sandroyd has been amazing since all the teachers make the lessons as fun and engaging as they can. My favourite play was the Year 7 Showcase where it was a circus theme where everyone was able to choose a few acts to perform so I chose to do pogo sticking and the diablo which was so much fun. I am really excited to go to Marlborough and meet lots of new people, but I am going to miss Sandroyd so much and take with me all the memories I have made here over the years with my friends.

I joined Sandroyd over 5 years ago, the last term of Year 3. I have taken part in many plays, showcases, and activities. It has been full of a huge amount of awesome events which has kept me on my toes from start to finish. The experience has been exhilarating and I’m sad to have to go.
Since 2019, I have been a weekly boarder and I have loved it so much. I have been houseparented by the Holbrooks, the Irvings, the Blomfields and then the Holbrooks again. All of which have been so fun over the years and have been nothing but supportive.
I have taken part in 100s of matches in rugby, cricket and hockey, a large number of which were hugely successful. The sports staff at Sandroyd have been amazing and have improved all my sports immensely over the years
I would like to say an extra thank you to Mrs Brady, for tutoring me throughout Year 8, to Mr Acton for bringing my sciences to such a high level, and to the Holbrooks for being my houseparents in my last year. Though I am sad to leave, I am excited for what hopefully will be a great 5 years at Eton.

I joined Sandroyd in the final term of Year 8. I came for two reasons. First, to improve my English. And second, in France I was very anxious about school and worried about a lot of things. My parents thought that spending a term without stress about school and with only one goal - enjoying the momentwas a good idea for me and this was true. Sandroyd has been a great place for me to learn about myself and to meet a lot of friendly and inspiring people who have helped me to have a very good time.
The first day, I was impressed by the kindness of the staff and of all the students. Later I realised that at Sandroyd each person is unique and important and we are all part of one big family.
Here I discovered two passions. First, music. The atmosphere of the chamber choir was amazing and inclusive. I discovered that singing is a very useful thing to calm my anxiety.
Second, art. I discovered a new way to practise art. I discovered that drawing is a way to speak out my emotions or my feelings without words.
To finish, I just want to say a huge thank you to all the teachers for their help, support and kindness.

In Year 2, my journey at Sandroyd School began. Sandroyd exposed me to the world of sports like cricket, rugby and hockey in which I was in the firsts for all of them. Sandroyd gave me the opportunities to play these sports which has allowed me to thrive in the field of sports. Sandroyd also introduced me to various subjects like Art and DT; because of this they have let me find a love for these subjects.
My greatest achievement at Sandroyd was the rugby match against Dauntseys for the U13 As. This was my greatest achievement because last year when we played them they beat us by a lot, but this year we came back and beat them by 8 tries.
Sandroyd has also allowed me to explore performing arts; I started in Year 2 where I played the piano and I also took part in the nativity play. Then I took my performing arts career further and decided to explore the trumpet, drums and the piano again. At the moment I don’t play any instruments but I do sing.

I like sports and music. During my time at Sandroyd, I honed my skills in various sports like football, rugby, and athletics, always pushing myself to be better everywhere.
Apart from sports, music has always been a passion for myself. I love playing the piano; music has a way of calming my mind and making me happy.
After spending a year and a term at Sandroyd, I am going to leave the school to go to senior school. I carry with me all the advice learned at Sandroyd, whether it’s on the field or on stage, I aim to make a positive impact and inspire others along the way.

I came to Sandroyd in the Summer Term of 2016 and I have enjoyed every second of it. Every single opportunity I have been given, I have taken and not regretted. In the Autumn Term of Year 2, I thought it would be a fun idea to take up the trumpet and I have loved playing it.
My favourite part of Sandroyd has to be the sport. I have always loved being competitive with others and the sport here has helped me enhance that competitiveness and strive to win. Throughout Years 7 and 8, Mr Lyddon and Mr Irving have helped me along the way, making it so I have enjoyed all the sports that I have played. In this final term, I have really learned the value of teamwork and working together in a community, especially around sport. This has helped to enhance all of our social skills, and I’m sure we will all benefit from what Sandroyd has taught us over the past few years. If I could redo Sandroyd from the beginning, there isn’t a single thing I would do differently because every single mistake I have made along the way has helped me adapt and learn.

I joined Sandroyd at the start of Year 3 where my love for riding really started. I have been encouraged throughout the years where I have competed through the levels and at NSEA championships for school and I have also been given the role of riding captain too. Sport has also been a massive part of my time at Sandroyd and I have been introduced to so many new sports which I have grown to love. Academics has never been my strong point, but all my teachers and especially Mrs Macdonald and my other learning support teachers have encouraged and helped me through my time here. If someone had told me at the age of 7 that I would be Head Girl in 5 years time I simply would not have believed them. I was appointed to this amazing role in September, a moment I will never forget, standing in front of Mr Speers in my pyjamas with him asking if I would like to be head girl! I will be forever grateful to all my teachers and peers who have always assisted me throughout my time at Sandroyd and helped me grow into the person I am today. I have so many fond memories at Sandroyd that will remain with me throughout my life and it would be impossible to choose my favourite.

I joined Sandroyd for the summer of my Year 7 (2023) and I loved all the activities so much, the sport and meeting new people and friends, that I asked my mother if I could come back in Year 8; so I came back for the leavers’ programme.
My first, best memory is when I touched a cricket bat. I was excited and all my friends were helping me to use it. It is way different than in France but the gaps and teachers helped me to understand all the rules of cricket and to be able to play.
Thank you also to Mrs Green for having great moments in the boarding house, watching films and chatting.

I have been at Sandroyd since Year 4 and since then I look at what has shaped me here from trying scholarships to making friendships. I am amazed at how much I have changed. Some of my favourite things I have done here are from my later years, like performing in the Year 7 Showcase to participating in the sports tour.
Since I have been here, I have also loved my performance arts; from doing Lamda in Year 4 to doing guitar and singing in Year 8. Also, I have enjoyed performing from busking to doing a trio for the leavers’ concert .
I have also enjoyed the activities here from each skills week passing to the leavers’ programme, Mount Kelly and each weekend I stayed in.
I have also loved my sports here from the always memorable rugby term where I was sliding around with my friends to the cricket term passing where I reached my goals and learnt a lot.
Overall I have relished in the delight of my Sandroyd journey and can’t wait to experience the things to come.

I began my Sandroyd journey in Year 4 as a full boarder with an attitude, and I have enjoyed every part of this amazing experience. I have been given many opportunities to undertake, some resulting in challenging times and others being the best times of my life.
I have been known ever since I joined for being passionate about sport resulting 4 years later, proudly gaining my sports exhibition scholarship to St Mary’s Calne. My main achievement among others is partaking in IAPS for swimming, netball and hockey for countless years and competing in tournaments, winning one in Year 6 at Bryanston. I am thankful to Mr Webster in believing in me to practise and participate in many activities and helping me throughout my scholarship.
I have enjoyed every moment with all of the activities to do and the much needed free time. I am very grateful for the help and care the school has given me. I would definitely recommend this school as it has brought me many skills I never knew I have had. I will miss Sandroyd as it pushed me to my limits extending my ability and maturity which I hope to continue on in my next school.

I joined Sandroyd in Year 6 from Banda in Kenya. Since Year 6, I have made so many friendships and memories. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, especially the sport. This year I have played in the 1sts for hockey and netball and I was awarded my hockey colours. I have also loved playing football for the first time in the Spring Term. During Sandroyd, I have taken part in 2 plays and our Year 7 Showcase, where I learnt to juggle. In our Year 8 play, Alice in Wonderland, I was a tap-dancing card, which I loved. I have been boarding at Sandroyd since I joined and have enjoyed everything the boarding has to offer. My favourite trip would definitely be when Mr Webster took us to Thorpe Park, in Year 7.
I have also taken part in riding lessons, being taught by Frances and Harriet. I have ridden lots of different horses and ponies and I have loved every minute of riding I have done.
I am sad to leave and will miss all my friends but Sandroyd has prepared me for Marlborough so well. I will always remember all the memories Sandroyd has given me. Thank you Sandroyd for some of the best years of my life.

This is my first and last year at Sandroyd. I am from Spain, and when I first joined I didn’t know the types of sport you do here, but I got really good at them, ending up in a very good team. I was in the 1st for rugby and I felt really proud of myself.
The whole point of me coming to Sandroyd was to learn how to speak fluent English and I think I have done quite well at that.
When I first joined the lessons were tiresome and really hard, but as the year went on I became better at them and I became a lot smarter. This has been one of the best years in my life, if not the best. I’ve made lots of new friends which I hope I will stay in touch with. I particularly loved the sports tour and I will never forget it. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me throughout the year including teachers and friends.
Without a doubt this has been an experience that I will never forget in my life, thank you very much for this year.

I joined Sandroyd at the beginning of Year 7. Since then, I have participated in a wide variety of sports, drama and academics. In the rugby term there were one or two unbelievable matches in the As, my personal favourite being the crazy match in the bitter cold against Walhampton. In the Spring Term, I vividly remember scoring the winner in the As football against Millfield. Finally, in the final term of my Sandroyd career, the 1sts Cricket with Mr Webster was an amazing experience.
Inside, I have enjoyed my classes tremendously and loved being taught by such amazing teachers. I have made so many great friends and will go to my next school very well prepared. Boarding has helped me so much as I used to go to a day school in London. There have been so many incidents which still make me laugh. I will always remember Sandroyd as an instrumental part of my childhood. I have made countless memories and this school has been a great way to prepare for the next stage and I am sure I am very ready for whatever will come next year. Thank you Sandroyd for being such a significant part of my life so far.

I am from Spain and I joined Sandroyd at the beginning of the year, and this has been the best year of my life! At the start of the year I found the year a bit difficult at the beginning.
Then I joined in with all the people and I made a lot of friends. I started playing rugby, cricket and hockey which I have really enjoyed. I have had so much fun with my friends and I have had a really fun time in the boarding house with Mr Holbrook. I have had a really good time at Sandroyd this year, so thank you to everyone.

I joined Sandroyd from Singapore in Year 5. I had lived in Singapore my whole life and came from a very different school with over ten times as many children. I quickly settled into the friendly, homely environment making lifelong friends who I will definitely stay in contact with.
While at Sandroyd I have enjoyed doing tennis and swimming and became the captain of swimming at the start of last term. I was also, to my delight, awarded an art scholarship to Sherborne Girls which would have never been possible without Mrs Carson who has helped me throughout my art journey at Sandroyd.
At the start of this year, I began a new subject, Classical Civilisation. I immediately fell in love with Classics and will definitely be pursuing it at Sherborne for my GCSEs and hopefully A levels. My experience in this subject wouldn’t have been as amazing if it wasn’t for my teacher, Mr Irving, who makes every lesson thrilling.
It will be very sad to leave but I have grown and learned so much at Sandroyd and I will never forget my amazing time here.

I joined Sandroyd in Year 6 and I have loved the past 2 years and made many unforgettable memories.
I have really enjoyed the sports offered, especially netball and hockey where I was in the 2nd team throughout the season, which will be one of my biggest achievements as when I started playing in Year 7 I was in the 4th team for both sports. Throughout my Sandroyd career, my obsession with riding has continued to grow. The riding department has helped me gain confidence in lessons and on hacks which wouldn’t have been possible without the time and effort spent by my instructors.
I have also really enjoyed the art. None of my successes would have been possible if it wasn’t for Mrs Carson and the amazing art department that pushed me to work my hardest.
I am very grateful for all the teachers that have helped me in these past years and in particular Mr Webster. I really hope that I will stay in touch with my friends, and Sandroyd, when I’m at Monkton.

I have loved my time at Sandroyd, it has probably been the best couple of years of my life. I will leave here with many fond memories.
I have had great fun on bike rides with Mr Attlee from getting a flat tyre and having to walk it up a huge hill to building jumps and swimming in puddles.
The drama and music has been a big part of my time at Sandroyd and I hope to continue it later on. I also won a performance arts scholarship to Bryanston which I am very proud of.
One of the most fun things about Sandroyd is the cricket. With 11 matches per season it has become the best of fun and I have really improved my game thanks to Mr Webster and the coaches that teach here at Sandroyd. The Leavers’ Programme, starting with the beach on the same day as Latin common entrance, to the leavers “statement”, had been amazing.
I have loved my time here and it will remain with me for the rest of my life as I go on to Bryanston.

I am from Spain and I joined for Sandroyd in Year 7 and then came back the last term of Year 8, and this has been one of the best years of my life. At the start of the year I was homesick but my dorm were really nice and helped me when I was homesick or sad.
I started playing drums and liked it a lot. The sport that I most enjoy out of rugby, hockey, cricket was cricket. Coming this term to Sandroyd has been a really good decision because I came for the fun term and it has been a lot of fun. The best thing was Mount Kelly because each day we did really fun things, the one thing that I enjoyed the most was the mud run.

When I first joined Sandroyd in Year 5 I was unconfident and shy, and anyone can tell how much that has changed. From the moment I walked through the front door, I have loved every part of Sandroyd. The teachers have helped me so much in making my life here for the past 4 years amazing. Some of my favourite memories would definitely be the wonderful plays that we put on every year. I can still remember playing Catherine Howard in Year 5 for Henry VIII and a Lady In Waiting in Hamlet in Year 6. My favourite play however would definitely be Alice in Wonderland. I was part of one of the Cheshire cats and I loved all the songs and dances.
The staff at Sandroyd have helped me so much through the years, from my various tutors, to the boarding staff and my teachers in everyday lessons. I feel I have learnt a lot and will take this on to Sherborne Girls. I am proud to have tried for an academic scholarship which I didn’t get, however doing my iPQ in the process was so much fun.
I am so grateful to Sandroyd for the last 4 years I have been here and to all the amazing teachers and opportunities I have had.

I have been at Sandroyd since Year 7 and its been the best time of my life!
Sport has definitely taken charge in my time at Sandroyd. In the Summer Term of Year 8 I was honoured to be made captain of cricket and I have also been in the 1sts for rugby, squash, hockey and football
In the Autumn Term of Year 8 I was a frog in our performance of Alice in Wonderland and I played fly half for the 1sts Rugby.
In the Spring Term of Year 8 I really enjoyed playing a bit of football and rugby 7s as well as playing hockey.
In the Summer Term of Year 8 I opened the batting for the 1sts and kept wicket. The Summer Term for me was the best term; I played cricket all evening and I really enjoyed the leavers’ programme.
I really want to thank all my teachers who have made my journey through the last two years possible and prepared me as much as they can for my next adventure.

I joined Sandroyd at the beginning of Year 2 and every moment of it was amazing. I have made so many wonderful memories here which I will carry with me during my life.
During my time here my main highlight was the sport. I played in the 2nds Hockey and the 1st this year for Netball and played a shooter; I was soon awarded the role of captain of netball.
Since Year 3 I have had singing lessons with 3 different singing teachers who have all pushed me to be the best that I can be. In Year 5 I started guitar and have enjoyed it thoroughly.
I would like to thank the netball coaches over the years for improving my netball so much and pushing me to be the best that I can be. I would also like to thank the Sisters for helping me whenever I had a bruise or bump. Finally, all of the teaching and boarding staff who took care of me for all of the years I have been here. I joined Sandroyd in 2019 and I have fully boarded ever since. When I joined, I was severely homesick, and the staff like the Holbrooks and Dr Hasler were so supportive that my confidence turned. Sandroyd led me from being one of the shy people at the back of the class to being honoured with an academic scholarship to Marlborough College; I could not have dreamt of this without the help of Sandroyd. In the Year 8 play Alice in Wonderland, I was a card. For this role we had to sing, act and most of all tap dance, which I have to say is not one of my strong points, but the performance arts team managed to turn that carnage into an organised dance, which came as a big surprise to everyone, especially me! One of my other highlights was the Year 8 rugby season with Mr Irving, the greatest rugby coach I have ever and possibly will ever have, who led us to an unbeaten season whilst breaking long lasting rivalries against Walhampton and Dauntsey’s. On the sporting side of things, I was also given the role of swimming captain. Sandroyd could not have prepared us more for our next step to senior school. Thank you Sandroyd for such an amazing time!

I joined Sandroyd in the Summer Term of Year 3 and have fully boarded ever since, I have spent a great deal of my life so far within these walls and still hang on to the early memories.Throughout my years at Sandroyd I have enjoyed a variety of activities, in the younger years I specifically enjoyed the performing arts and enjoyed developing my musical skills that have helped me through the years and brought me to star as the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland. I have never been academically invested, though in the last year I have found myself being pushed in the right direction for CE thanks to the teachers.
Although I do feel I have achieved a lot during Sandroyd, in Year 7 and 8 my sports have developed massively, especially hockey as I was awarded hockey captain at the beginning of the year and netball, as I was attending a county club throughout the year. I have had much help in my sport from various teachers.
I love this school with a great deal of my heart and I will never forget the golden times spent here, I hope this school doesn’t forget me. As sad as I am to leave, I am also excited for what’s to come.

I have been at Sandroyd for 7 years and now that it is coming to an end this school couldn’t have prepared me better for the next stages of my life. Being here for so long has meant that I have discovered a lot of my passions (such as dance and drama), been pushed out of my comfort zone to try new experiences that were on offer, and made long-lasting friendships.
I have loved taking part in plays, dance shows and showcases and being a performing arts scholar. I took part in a lot of plays and have been the Star in a nativity, a Queen in our Year 5 play Henry VIII and the White Rabbit in my final year group play, Alice in Wonderland. I have had LAMDA, musical theatre, ballet, pointe, modern and piano lessons over the years here and I could not thank the teachers that have helped me with these more.
Although I am moving away from Sandroyd and England I will never forget the amazing friendships, memories and occasions that have all made my time at Sandroyd life changing and exciting. I am sad to leave Sandroyd and especially my friends, but I am looking forward to Switzerland and the opportunities that wait for me there.

I joined Sandroyd at the beginning of Year 8 and although I didn’t have much time here, it has already been a life changing experience. One of my many memorable moments at Sandroyd was when I played Alice, in ‘Alice in Wonderland’. This really persuaded me to try for a performing arts scholarship which I proudly achieved. This year I have developed so many skills such as teamwork, friendship, and especially leadership. That is what Sandroyd has taught me so well.
My love for sports has grown massively as Miss Nelson has developed my netball playing and Mr Webster’s enthusiastic hockey teaching has opened my mind towards new, challenging sports. Mr Irving has inspired me as his funny teaching methods have made Classical Civilisation my favourite subject.
Over this year, I have loved my piano and singing lessons which I hope to continue at senior school. Although I am excited for Bryanston, I will miss Sandroyd greatly. This school has been a crazy roller coaster ride and I will never forget the incredible people I have met here. I am so lucky to have come here and Sandroyd will always be in my joyful memories.

I was lucky enough to join Sandroyd this year, and even if my nerves and excitement were trying to stop me from making new friends, in the second week of school I was already having the best time of my life, being surrounded by lots of amazing people. My English improved greatly and I learned how to play completely different sports than the ones I played at home, I loved the way in which every teacher taught their lesson, making it fun and unique. I was named Deacon at the end of the first term, which I was really grateful and happy about. I also learned how to play piano in the second term, being taught by Mr Wall. I would love to thank him and Mrs Blomfield too for helping me with everything I needed. I also had an amazing time performing as the Six of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland. My boarding journey was also really fun. When I first saw everyone settling in on the first day, I realised that Alaska was going to be my home for this year, and from that moment on, I started enjoying being surrounded by all those crazy and funny 13-years-olds who I couldn’t live without right now. I will really miss all those school summer evenings with all of my friends, and all the sunsets we watched. Thank you Sandroyd for supporting me and making this year one of the best in my life. I will miss it very much.

I joined Sandroyd at the beginning of Year 7 from The Cayman Islands. I have made so many friends here who have made my time here so memorable. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the sports here, especially athletics and hockey which I gained a sports scholarship for. I went to Nationals for the 100m and 200m, thanks to the wonderful training from the coaches, who awarded me the role of athletics captain. I’ve boarded since I joined Sandroyd and I’ve loved every minute of it, from making tuck to watching the football, it has all been such a fun experience.

I joined Sandroyd in the Summer Term of Year 2. The two particular things that I have enjoyed are the sports and the drama. The sport at Sandroyd is outstanding, thanks to the amazing coaches. This has led me into one of my main passions, cricket. Particular highlights in my cricket matches at Sandroyd are, having the opportunity to captain the seconds, Scoring 51 not out against Port Regis and taking 5 wickets against Hazelgrove.
I started drama at the age of 8, taught by Miss Meghan and I loved it since the moment I started. I have hugely enjoyed the plays that the performance arts department put on. I produced a mime with Kit Campbell-Wheeler and James Carnegie in the Year 7 Showcase and for my final play and my favourite play, in Year 8 we did Alice in Wonderland and I played the King of Hearts.
This year I had the privilege of being Head Boy. I’d like to thank Mr Speers for giving me this wonderful opportunity. I feel extremely lucky to be able to be Head Boy and I loved carrying out my roles and responsibilities. Sandroyd has transformed my life and I am so grateful to everything that it has done for me. Thank you Sandroyd.

I’ve been at Sandroyd for 5 years now and throughout my time I have learned many new things. Before I joined Sandroyd, I had a very difficult time with school and I hated it. But as soon as I joined, I started to love school. Something that I think really helped me during my first term was rugby because it helped me let out all my anger and make new friends. I tried for an academic scholarship and whilst I did not get it, I came first in maths and physics and I also learned alot from the journey. One of my most enjoyable achievements at Sandroyd was being in the first team for cricket when I was in Year 7.
I have worked hard in all sports and I have been in the firsts for rugby, cricket and football as well as being in the cross country team.
I have loved all my experiences in drama, my favourite probably being during the Year 7 Showcase where I was a dancing hippo and unicyclist. I passed Grade 4 Drama pairs with merit with Diego.
I have loved every part of Sandroyd and I have no regrets. I am very grateful for all the amazing teachers and other members of staff. Thank you everyone.

I have been at Sandroyd for 7 years, during which time I have changed and grown for the better. Sandroyd has taught me so much that I will never forget. But if I had to pick every highlight at Sandroyd I would have to fill the whole book, so I have chosen a couple that stand out for me.
My first one is when in the first term of Year 8 I shot 11 goals in a single match. Secondly, was achiving my Monktoniion scholarship which was assessed in my chosen subjects. My third highlight was tennis; throughout my last few years at Sandroyd I have developed a passion for tennis and would frequently be found at the tennis court in the evenings. Something that will stick with me forever is the freedom that I have had throughout my time here.
Another memory I have is coming back from a trip or a match with everyone singing along at the tops of our voices.
I am excited to be going to Monkton next year, but Sandroyd will always hold a special place in my heart as it is where I have been happiest. I hope that generations to come will enjoy and understand what a special place Sandroyd is.

I joined Sandroyd at the start of Year 5 and was immediately thrown into Sandroyd life. I have enjoyed every second of it.I have made so many new friends and have learnt a lot. I have been in three plays and the Year 7 Showcase where I learnt how to juggle, and to be a tap dancing card for our Year 8 production of Alice in Wonderland! In Year 5, I started to play the flute and as I am leaving I will be going on to my Grade 3.
The sport at Sandroyd is amazing and despite not being extremely good at sport I have enjoyed it. Thanks to Mr Webster and many other sports staff, I have worked my way up to the mighty 6th team in cricket out of 8! I have been boarding at Sandroyd since Year 5 and have enjoyed everything it has to offer. My favourite trip has to be going to Thorpe Park in Year 7, enjoying it with my friends creating unforgettable memories. The sports tour in Year 8 would also definitely be a highlight. We did everything from painting nails to obviously playing sports!
I will miss Sandroyd a lot as it has been my home away from home for 4 years. Thank you Sandroyd for the best 4 years of my life.

I joined Sandroyd in the beginning of the Lent term of Year 8. When I first joined, I was quite overwhelmed by the big campus compared to my old school. Also, within 3 days, I was 1st team captain for hockey and I scored 49 goals throughout the season. Furthermore, I achieved a music scholarship to Marlborough. Even though I joined quite late, Mrs Blomfield gave me the extra push to succeed in the scholarship. Throughout my time at Sandroyd I have made lots of new friends who I hope to stay in touch with. Everyone has helped me to settle in very smoothly, and I will definitely miss Sandroyd. Inside the classroom, I have learnt so much throughout the 2 terms. With this, it should put me in good stead for my senior school. The boarding side of the school has really helped me and it will also prepare me for Marlborough, as I came from a day school in Salisbury. From day one the Holbrooks have really made me feel like a part of the Sandroyd community and have welcomed me with open arms. I am very grateful for Sandroyd and what it has to offer. It is on another level to my old school. I appreciate all the support I have received from this school, and will miss it as I start at Marlborough.

I joined Sandroyd at the beginning of Year 8. It was a very big change for me because I moved from Germany to England and became a fulltime boarder. It was very hard for me at the beginning but for everyone who is joining from another country my advice is that it’s worth it. Even if the start is hard you will have incredible experiences and make friends for life. This is something Sandroyd has taught me so well and even if there are bad times they won’t last long because you have all your friends around you to help and the amazing Sandroyd staff who are so kind and helpful with everything. Sandroyd has also helped me a lot improving my sports. Sandroyd has taught me to play netball, a sport I have never played before and I found myself enjoying it a lot playing the position of goalkeeper.
If someone asked what my best experience was at Sandroyd I would need a lot of time to think about it but I would say Mount Kelly. It was so fun trying so many new things like doing a bog run or abseiling off a cliff. Now that my time at Sandroyd is over I am very sad but I also can’t wait to tell my friends in Germany about my unforgettable time here.

I have been at Sandroyd for 2 years and I am now a sports scholar. These have been the best two years of my life. I have enjoyed a lot of things at Sandroyd.
When I first joined in Year 7 I hadn’t played any of the sports and was just getting the hang of things. The sport was more intense and the lessons were just so hard. It was the first time that I had played rugby and somehow I joined the A team. Then a year later I joined the 1st team for rugby, football, hockey and cricket.
I performed in a few plays. One was called Alice In Wonderland and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was the Cheshire Cat along with Tilly and Clem. I also performed in the Year 7 Showcase and I played the guitar.
I boarded and overall I enjoyed it. Especially in Year 8 because you got Tuck so you weren’t hungry before you went to bed, but even in Year 7 it was still a very fun experience. I have made a lot of friends since I joined, hopefully life long friends during such a short period of time. I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have been given and also thank you to all the staff. I am sad to leave but excited for the journey ahead.

My Sandroyd life started in the Summer Term of Year 5 and I have loved the opportunities that the school has given me in my time here. Sport has been a massive part of my life at Sandroyd, it has helped me make friends and I have loved the matches. I think my most memorable moment was scoring a hat-trick against Sexeys, or beating Wallhampton in a very memorable match. Mr Irving was a great head of rugby and he transformed my whole year so I will always thank him for that. Another highlight of my time has been the boarding; I have fully boarded throughout my time (sometimes staying in for the weekends) and I think the warm welcome that I was given on my first day has stuck with me since. My houseparents have been the Holbrooks, the Irvings and the Blomfields. All of them have been amazing in helping me with homesickness and other problems I have faced.
Finally, I am going to talk about the academic support that I have received in my lessons; the teachers have helped me work towards Common Entrance and have given me a great foundation for my next school. Thank you for everything, Sandroyd.

I joined Sandroyd in Year 4 and I have enjoyed lots of friends and good memories that will stay with me forever. When I joined in Year 4 I went straight into boarding and Mr and Mrs Holbrook were my first houseparents and they also went from the junior house into the senior one, so I have also had them for Year 8.
I have loved the sport here and have played 1s team hockey and cricket. I also was in the squash, tennis and athletics teams. I was really pleased that I was the captain of the 1st rugby team and we had a very successful full season.
I got awarded a sports scholarship to Sherborne School, I have had great help from all of the sports coaches and I couldn’t have done it without them.
I have learnt so many new skills at Sandroyd and will use them in my future life. I have loved my time at Sandroyd and all it has had to offer.

I joined Sandroyd in Year 3 and the thing that I have most enjoyed is the sport, my highlight being being the firsts’ goalkeeper a few times and also getting 10th in national athletics for 1500m. This was particularly good because I had only started a few weeks before. Throughout my journey at Sandroyd, from the second term of Year 3 to the upcoming end of Year 8, I have witnessed an obvious personal improvement and numerous achievements. As I said, sports have been the best part of my time here, I was in the thirds for hockey, I also secured a spot in the cricket seconds, proudly led the rugby seconds as their captain and, of course, most recently taking up 1500m. These experiences have not only improved my athletic abilities but also instilled in me the values of teamwork and determination. Boarding has also been a staple of my time here and I have enjoyed every bit of it. I have now boarded for 5 or so years and, especially when I was living abroad in Scotland, it helped a lot. I have especially enjoyed the evenings at Sandroyd, from playing football on the pitches to playing games in the computer room, it has truly been great. I also have been playing the bagpipes since Year 4 and have really enjoyed it.

I joined Sandroyd in Year 5, and since then I have changed to an almost different person. Sure, I may not have grown as much (as evidenced from my decidedly small stature), but all my charm is from me, not my height.
In my time at Sandroyd I have had a few big hobbies- drama, I have always loved and put my full effort into, but Sandroyd helped me further expand my love for it. Another hobby I had at Sandroyd was reading. While this may be a slightly worn-out idea to most, Sandroyd has only made its fire burn brighter in my heart, with things like the library team and books cafe. My favourite teacher, Mr Reddon, I loved as he always did the craziest and funniest things for the school like during lockdown he donned his nun clothes and became Sister Reddon for those who couldn’t go home. So I was definitely glad to hear that next year he is coming back to be a DT teacher. All-in-all, Sandoyd throughout my time as shown me hospitality in the dorms, given me useful knowledge in the classrooms and prepared delicious meals in the dining room, and so as much as I will miss it and the friends I’ve made along the way, Sandroyd has done so much to prepare me for the next step. Thank you Sandroyd, for everything.

It is with a heavy heart that I bid farewell to Sandroyd School, where I have spent the last five cherished years. This institution has not only provided me with a solid academic foundation but has also nurtured my love for sports, particularly cricket and hockey. The memories forged on the playing fields will forever hold a special place in my heart.
As I prepare to embark on the next chapter of my educational journey at Radley, I am filled with a sense of gratitude for the teachers who have guided me, the friendships that have been forged, and the experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today.
While the prospect of leaving Sandroyd is bittersweet, I carry with me the invaluable lessons and values instilled by this school. I eagerly anticipate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, armed with the resilience and determination taught here.
Thank you, Sandroyd, for an unforgettable experience.

Over my life I have attended nearly seven different schools, but never have I ever loved a school as much as Sandroyd. Constantly worried that missing one day of school would mean missing a thrilling riding lesson or even just a “super interesting” science lesson with Mr Acton!
Sandroyd has pushed me towards my achievements, training me to perform at Nationals for my 300m sprints and helping me to receive a drama exhibition to Sherborne Girls. Whilst at Sandroyd I enjoyed sport thanks to the teachers! (but just so Mr Thompson knows I am never picking up a cricket bat again!) I took pride in my athletics, netball, riding, cross-country and becoming captain of girls football.
Sandroyd is stuffed with memories that I know will be stories to tell, like swimming for my life through cow poo as Mr Webster dragged us back into the bog run at Mount Kelly! And now I can tell this as I wont be able to receive an omega… I always had three custard creams at trolley Mr Webster!
I know I will love Sherborne Girls but never as much as I loved Sandroyd and I would specifically like to thank all my friends, Mrs Carson and all my teachers. Thank you Sandroyd for making me love school.

I have been at Sandroyd for one year (Year 7) and the last term of Year 8, and in that time I have had one of the best experiences in my whole life, which I will never forget. During my time at Sandroyd I have learnt lots of sports that I had never tried before, like cricket, hockey or rugby, and in my opinion I think I did quite well playing them. Also, I learnt how to live in a school, in a boarding house, which I had never tried before.
I came here from Spain to learn lots of English and to improve it and the truth is that I have improved it a lot. Besides that, I also came here to have a great experience and to make a lot of new friends, and I hope I can stay in touch with them for the rest of my life.
Overall, it was such a great experience that I will never forget and I have enjoyed it a lot. I also would like to thank the teachers as well as all of the members of staff for this lovely time at Sandroyd. I will have lots of fantastic memorable experiences about this year and a term at Sandroyd.

I joined Sandroyd at the beginning of Year 8, and I came from Spain. During my time at Sandroyd I have had an opportunity to try new things and I have had a chance to make new friends. I really enjoyed the play we did at the beginning of the Autumn term, Alice in Wonderland, in which I was a flower and I also sang a solo. I started to play the violin in November and I also did drama at the beginning of the summer term. In my drama lessons Zara and I prepared a drama piece to perform in the Leavers Concert. I tried new sports, such as hockey, netball and cricket, and I really liked them. One of my favourite things we did was the sports tour in the spring term, playing netball with my friends, watching the Bath netball team, and also going to Bath with all of the girls.
Finally, Mount Kelly. It was a really good trip. We all got muddy. I personally think that was also one of the best experiences of my life at Sandroyd.
I would like to give a huge thank you to all the teachers who helped me with my academics, and the fun lessons in the Leavers’ Programme. I will never forget all the memories, the fun weekends with my friends and all the laughs in the dorms!
