The summer camp mix: Tennis, languages and leisure

High performance tennis The ASC 360 Tennis System© is unique in the world. Designed by Emilio Sánchez Vicario and Sergio Casal, it is based on four core pillars: technical, tactical, physical and mental. Each of these four pillars is developed intensively, and each one is tailored to the player's stage, which depends on age, physical condition and tennis level. The stages are reflected in the ASC Development Pyramid©, and ranges from the initiation stage to the elite stage. In the area of sports science, the program includes all services on site that the player may need, such as physical training, nutrition, sports psychology, and physiotherapy.

Language program Students can choose their preferred foreign language: Spanish or English or French (academies in Barcelona and Naples, FL). These classes are offered by native teachers at ES International School, a private American school located on campus, and which is fully accredited by official bodies both the US and Spain. Language classes are offered from elementary to advance levels. Class groups are organized by level and age.

Leisure activities Various activities are organized during the weeks to allow for relaxation and full enjoyment of your stay at Sánchez-Casal Academy. External activities are organized every week, so that you can discover the local environment, the beaches, and the city of Barcelona.

Players10 years and older can choose to live on-campus, either in the residence, or the bungalows. Our team of supervisors take care of the players 24 hours a day and are responsible for the safety and w e l f a re o f s t u d e n t s l i v i n g i n t h e Academy.

The Summer Camp at Sanchez-Casal Academy is a great personal experience and a unique opportunity to interact with students from all over the world. Each year, players from more than 50 different nationalities live together the ASC Summer Camp experience.

We offer a safe, secure, and peaceful setting. For the protection of our tennis players, we have a security system with a 24 hours surveillance. Supervisors living on campus are responsible for the safety and welfare of the students.

The perfect summer camp program for a child under 12 years old, including all the care and supervision your kid needs: 1 tennis-coach per 4 players, 1 tennis coach per 4 player, 24/7 surveillance, assistance checked before each activity.

For stays longer than one week, players have the opportunity to participate in local tournaments, as well as national, or even international events, that are being held during their stay.

Adequate nutrition is a key factor in player's training regiment because if directly influences the performance and development of each athlete. All meals are prepared in house in order to provide a balanced nutrition plan necessary for the health and maximum performance of our student-athletes.

At Academia Sánchez-Casal we know that in order to help develop High Performance athletes you need High Performance Coaches. Therefore, our coaches are certified by both the RPT (Registro Profesional de Tenis) and the USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association). We guarantee you will enjoy the highest standard of training with a ratio of only 2 players per court.

For those who have contracted a “UM” (Unaccompanied Minor) services with their airline, the academy provides the support of a staff member to accompany the student, at all times, until he/she is picked up by the airline company and taken to the gate. This service has an extra-charge. Ask for this service at the Reception or at the Admissions Department.

At the Academy, each student has a virtual account to facilitate parents and tutors to deposit money. Transactions can either be cash, bank transfer, or credit card (credit card charges have a surcharge of 3%). No other deposit method is allowed. The students may withdraw money from Monday to Friday from 11am to 4pm through the Reception.

Laundry Service is available to those campers staying on campus for more than one week. Ask for this service at the Reception or at the Admissions Department.

Pro-shop In our specialized shop you can buy everything you need for playing tennis. From a wide range of top brand products to specialized sports services, such as racket stringing, our customers will always find professional advice.

The ASC 360 Tennis System® allows all levels of players to enjoy the high performance training. Enjoy the best parts of Barcelona (Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, Paseo de Gracia, Port Aventura, F. C. Our U12 Summer Camp is designed for students from around the world from 8 to 12 years of age. Our program allows young tennis players to enjoy the summer while combining high performance tennis training with language studies and fun leisure and entertainment activities. All of this, with the care and monitoring that a child under 12 years of age needs. § The U12 Summer Camp adapts the prestigious ASC 360 Tennis System© to the specific characteristics and needs of the younger players in all of pillars: Besides 3 hours of daily tennis training players under 12 receive 4 hours /week of 360 Young Sessions, a special approach to the 4 pillars of the ASC 360 Tennis System® (technical, tactical, physical and mental) for players U12.

Intensive English + Tennis program Special residents in Barcelona or Spain This summer there is no need to travel far to enjoy the best intensive English + Tennis course. With the best coaches from the Sánchez-Casal Academy and its unique ASC 360 Tennis System and with native English teachers from the ES International School. All within the same campus, surrounded by nature, and 10 minutes from the center of Barcelona. And don't worry about security: To protect our players and our staff, ASC is adapting its programs to include the services available at all times, rigorously complying with all the security, hygiene and cleaning protocols established by the Spanish Government and the WHO (World Health Organization). Our main objective is to guarantee the health of all members of the Sánchez-Casal family.

The Push Program can be integrated within the Summer Camp Program and includes one hour a day, Monday through Friday, of private tennis training. This allows student-athletes to work intensively on the technical and tactical side of the game. Two hours per week of physical training are provided in a group of maximum 4 players. One session of Mental Training is offered in a separate group of 1 to 4 players.

PreTournament Camp Come to Sánchez-Casal the week before any ITF / Tennis Europe tournament held at our Academy and we will help you achieve your best game. § § § §

Get used to the tournament environment: facilities, weather, and staff. Wo r k o n t a c t i c a l a n d m e n t a l a s p e c t s t o strengthen your game. Gain confidence. Local tournament where you can win a wild card for the Qualifying Draw (U12, U14 and U16 Tournaments).

Competitive Summer Program Train and travel to tournaments with the ASC Travelling Team

The Competitive Summer Program is an intensive twoweeks (minimum) training program. It begins with one week of training in the ASC facilities, and which culminates in the participation at an appropriate tournament for each player (international or national), joining the annual student-athletes of our Travelling Teams. It is available to players in the U12 to U18 categories and they must have a certain level of English to qualify.

Players joining the Competitive Summer Program must spend at least one-week training with us at the Academy facilities. During this first week, our coaches get to know the player, their strengths and their weaknesses. Together, they will work with specific exercises aimed at improving the player’s competitive skills.

ASC annual student-athletes compete in the main Tennis Europe and ITF tournaments. Traveling teams are runned by skilled ASC Senior Coaches who accompany, train and provide support to ASC student-athletes before, during and after tournaments. Competitive Summer Program players will join these traveling teams.

Similarly, the first week is necessary so that new players, coaches and annual student-athletes can meet, get to know each other and, the following week, travel together as a totally integrated team.

We suggest that the parents of the interested players get in touch with the Admissions department in order to assist and determine which tournament is best suited for each player. Parents should register their child on the tournament of their choice in order to reserve the spot before registering for this program.

ASC BARCELONA CAMPUS ASC’s beautiful campus is situated just 20 minutes from downtown Barcelona and 5 minutes from the airport but it surprises all the visitors by the sense of tranquility that is inspired by the natural setting of our surroundings.

Accommodation Accommodation is adapted to the needs of each player. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as the weekly excursions/activities are included in the boarding programs.

Apartments Intended for parents accompanying players enrolled in a sports program, the SanchezCasal Academy has six magnificent apartments on campus, all on the second floor of the bungalow area. This idyllic location overlooks the swimming pool and academy grounds. Each apartment has two bedrooms, a lounge with TV, a fridge and a bathroom with shower. These apartments have their own separated entryway providing exclusive access to the apartment area via an electronic card. Apartment users have the possibility to request breakfast, half board or full board in our restaurant.

Health care The Summer camp registration includes premium health insurance from Mapfre. This policy includes coverage for illness, as well as for injuries. Also, our Physiotherapy Department is available to the players if they need it.

The best summer leisure activities Various activities are organized during the weeks to allow for relaxation and full enjoyment of your stay at Sánchez-Casal Academy. External activities are organized every Saturday afternoon, so that you can discover the local environment, the beaches, and the city of Barcelona (Sagrada Familia, Gothic quarter, Park Guell, among others). One of the favourite excursions is the guided tour of the Camp Nou facilities in FC Barcelona. Weekend excursions: For those who stay for more than one week, the weekend excursions include visits to local tourist attractions, emblematic amusement parks such as Port Aventura (Tarragona), Water World aquatic park (Lloret de mar), and shopping trips.

Activities will also be held inside the premises to provide a safe and fun environment. If possible there will be activities outside the premises once the pandemic is controlled.

The best summer leisure activities Throughout the weeks of Summer Camp we offer a wide variety of activities to allow for relaxation and full enjoyment of your stay at Sánchez-Casal Academy. Plans include local water parks, shopping days, friday pool parties, soccer and ping-pong tournaments among others. One of our favorite field

trips is a guided tour to the Everglades National Park. In addition, there are weekend excursions to discover the local environment, beaches and the beautiful city of Naples. Activities take place both on and off campus.
