Boeing Center at Tech Port boasts a phenomenal food hall and bar that features some of the most exceptional local restaurants in town. The Provisions Food Hall & Bar is distinct from other arena food halls that offer chain food or concession type foods. Instead, Tech Port houses six delicious local restaurants that are sure to delight your taste buds.

At Tech Port, you can find Earl Abel's famous fried chicken, burgers, and other tasty treats. Two restaurants by Cherrity Bar, La Tienda de la Birria and Kuriya, are also available, serving traditional birria tacos and ramen and other Japanese foods, respectively. Capo's Pizza and Mr. G Sushi are additional options, along with Savage Coffee and Smokin' Cocina, which serves up some great BBQ. And that's not all – there's even a full bar with a fantastic happy hour. All of these incredible restaurants are conveniently located in one place. Moreover, each of these restaurants is open to the public Monday through Friday and available for events at the arena!

Provisions Food Hall & Bar Discover Amazing Local Restaurants at the Boeing Center at Tech Port

Earl Abel’s may have recently closed its main restaurant however you can still indulge in the same great food that San Antonians have enjoyed since 1933 at Tech Port! The Earl Abel’s outpost at Provisions Food Hall & Bar focuses mostly on their famous fried chicken but they also offer great burgers and fried fish. But don’t forget dessert. Earl Abel’s makes some of the best pies in town and you can find them here! They typically have slices of banana cream pie, chocolate ice box pie and apple pie, but other varieties are often available too! Earl Abel’s delivers fast, delicious comfort food! Their fried chicken was named Best in the City in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Come see why!

Kuriya is a wonderful ramen shop brought to you by the folks that run Cherrity Bar. If you aren’t familiar, ramen is a Japanese noodle soup served in a rich broth usually with various meats and vegetables and just as it is at Cherrity Bar the ramen here is made with only the best ingredients.Whenever possible they use local sources. The broths are cooked in the Cherrity Bar kitchen and brought out to Tech Port. Some of the broths take several days before they are ready. The flavor is incredible! In addition to ramen, Kuriya also offers a couple of delicious sliders one with pork belly and the other with marinated chicken! You can’t go wrong with any of the menu items from Kuriya!

Cherrity Bar co-owner Chef Ernest Bradley has traveled throughout Mexico and he wanted to bring some of the wonderful foods he enjoyed to San Antonio. Which is why he decided to open La Tienda de la Birria. Birria is a complex goat stew originally from Jalisco, Mexico. Over the last few years birria has become popular however it is often made with beef. Not here! The goats are purchased from a ranch in Fredericksburg and butchered in the kitchen at Cherrity Bar. They are then roasted for 8 hours to make an incredibly tender and flavorful meat. Though Birria is the focus here they also serve vegetarian quesadillas, a chicken tinga bowl and fish tacos. Stop on by. You won’t want to miss this great food!

Guillermo Hernandez learned to make sushi the hard way. He started as a dishwasher and then table busser and food preparation in a local Japanese restaurant before eventually learning to roll sushi. He has now been doing it over 20 years! Guillermo first opened Mr. G Sushi in a food truck before adding the Tech Port location. At Mr. G Sushi it is all made fresh! All his sauces are made fresh every day and every sushi roll is not cut and created until it is ordered. Mr. G Sushi offers all the basic rolls you are familiar with but he also serves his own special signature rolls. Some of the rolls incorporate the local culture by adding items like cilantro, jalapeno, and avocado. Mr. G Sushi offers special rolls every week!

Capo’s Pizzeria is known for its awardwinning, Buffalo, New York style pizza. Buffalo style pizza differs from New York City style pizza in that it has a slightly thicker crust that is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It is also known to have more cheese, and who doesn’t love a lot of delicious, stretchy cheese on a pizza! There are 5 Capo’s Pizzeria locations around San Antonio including a location at Tech Port. The pizza is made with fresh ingredients and authentic recipes and everything from the dough to the sauce is made from scratch. During weekdays, at the Tech Port location you have your choice of buying a whole pizza or pizza by the slice. During concerts and other events at Tech Port pizza is only sold by the slice so that it can be served quickly and efficiently.

Everyone loves BBQ and who doesn’t love Mexican food? Smokin’ Cocina puts those two together. The meat is smoked in house daily and you can choose between Carnitas, brisket, sausage, smoked barbacoa and smoked Pollo Asado. Each of these meats can be ordered on a plate or placed on a torta! Smokin’ Cocina also has some incredible side dishes including charro beans, mac & cheese, potato salad and corn relish. But for me, the star of the show is the Texas Cheesy grits! Smokin’ Cocina was created by Jaime Hernandez who, in addition to running this concept, is also the Executive Chef for the entire Boing Center. Though he wears several hats each day, he puts a ton of love into the delicious offerings at Smokin’ Cocina!

Diana Gonzalez, part of the husband-andwife ownership team of Savage Coffee, is originally from Portland, Oregon, arguably the “Capital of American coffee shops”.When she moved here, she noticed that there were not, at the time, many local coffee places. It was mostly corporate shops. When covid happened, Diana and her husband Javier Gomez decided it was time to change careers. Even though neither had ever been baristas they believed the coffee business was where they wanted to be. So, they learned coffee making techniques by watching YouTube videos and asking other people! Because Savage Coffee did not want to only offer the typical coffee drinks that can be found anywhere, they created a menu of house specialties, like the MazaLatte, Chatalatte, and the Tomylatte. Savage Coffee also supports local by buying their roasted coffee beans from a local roaster and pastries from local bakeries. They are open at Tech Port Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. plus some of the evening events at the arena.

Answer: For produce, I always have onions (yellow and red), garlic, carrots, celery, and mushrooms on hand. These five ingredients allow me to make a quick mirepoix, vegetable stock or fortify a stock, as well as create an amazing foundation for a wide variety of dishes. For dried spices, I love all things Spiceology or, if you are looking for the local feel, Bolner’s spices are always a great choice. Chef Leo

Answer: After a long day at the restaurant, my go-to meal is a quick stir fry or fried rice topped with a fried egg. I usually always have day old rice in my fridge along with carrots, bell peppers, and an onion. A quick sauté of the veggies then, add in your rice along with tamari, hoisin, and a touch of sesame oil. If you have a diced-up protein option, definitely add it and always finish it with a perfectly fried egg, leave the yolk a touch runny for the perfect chef’s kiss. Chef Leo

sous Do you use g vide cookin so, method? If favorite r u o y ’s t a wh ake? thing to m fmann Donna Hof

Answer: Yes, I absolutely love sous vide cooking. We use it a lot at the restaurant and even at home. Sous vide is a kitchen tool meant to help cook and maintain flavor while you cook/prep other items. -Some of my favorite items to make with a sous vide are pork chops, steak, and fall off the bone ribs. Chef Leo

Answer: A quality and maintained knife set is second to none but some underrated kitchen tools are a quality peeler and can opener. Kuhn Rikon is a great brand for a peeler. A quality pan also makes a major difference as well. I feel all home cooks should own 8” and 10” nonstick pans. Some of my favorite brands are All-Clad and Our Place. -The most overrated product would have to be the “As seen on TV” products. You don’t need a strawberry or tomato core remover. There are a lot of gimmicky items out there so it can be tough to distinguish the good from the bad. You possibly just sparked an amazing idea where I could put these items to test in a restaurant kitchen! Chef Leo

m Hi Chef! I a , what is wondering t dish the hardes r made, you’ve eve redients g in t a h w and es made it or process difficult? wood Torri Elling Answer: That is a great question, the hardest dishes that I have ever made are usually because it was a brand-new dish and I had never made them before. When I begin to conceptualize a dish, I usually spend 2-3 months diligently researching the dish and the process of making it. I envision the process and completely immerse myself into the journey and the representation of the dish. When we first started out as a farmers market pop-up café, we made fresh corn tortillas from scratch every morning. People always ask,

“How did you get so good at making tortillas?” The short answer, we made a lot of bad tortillas. We figured out what we liked and did not like about the tortillas; the water temperature, the weight of the tortilla press, the brand of the masa, the Texas weather, etc. We failed fast to perfect our corn tortillas. My little sister has celiac disease. Working with gluten free products has its own set of hurdles, but we are confident in our processes. The hardest part about using gluten free flour is that nothing on this planet mimics wheat flour and the elasticity that gluten provides. With that being said, we can confidently state that we serve some amazing gluten free dishes. My sister being celiac has challenged me in new ways and has helped me become a better Chef. Some of the more challenging dishes that I have made are chicken ballotine, beef wellington, bao buns and dumplings from scratch, Gluten Free cookery, and Mexican Moles. Chef Leo

Experience the magic of Autumn's bounty with tantalizing vegetables

Kale, a verdant leafy green brimming with mystical nutrients, endures the cool breath of autumn with grace. Try it in kale chips, smoothies, or a simple salad with a dash of lemon juice and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.

Sweet potatoes, sultry and creamy, are enchanted tubers of versatility. Roast them, mash them or turn them into fries, and let cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple syrup weave their spells for a cozy fall flavor.

Brussels sprouts, mini cabbages of crisp nuttiness, reveal their true magic when roasted or sautéed. Season them with salt, pepper, garlic, and balsamic vinegar for a savory treat. Alternatively, add bacon, cranberries, and pecans for a festive twist.

Beets, earthy roots of rich color and flavor, enchant any plate with their magical touch. Peel and chop, then roast them with olive oil and herbs, or pickle, grate, or blend them into a soup. Squash, with its varied forms like butternut, acorn, spaghetti, and delicata, dazzles with its enchanting spells. Halve and bake until tender, then scoop out the flesh and savor as is or mash with butter and brown sugar. Alternatively, use squash to weave magic in pies, breads, or casseroles.

Sausage, Potato and Kale Soup Ingredients 1 pound bulk Italian sausage 4 cups half-and-half 3 cups cubed potatoes 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth 2 cups whole milk 1 medium onion, chopped ½ teaspoon dried oregano ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes, or more to taste ½ teaspoon ground black pepper 2 cups kale, torn into bite-sized pieces Directions 1. Heat a large soup pot over medium-high heat. Crumble sausage into the pot; cook and stir until browned, about 10 minutes. Drain and discard grease. 2. Stir half-and-half, potatoes, chicken broth, milk, onion, oregano, and pepper flakes into sausage, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 30 minutes. 3. Season with black pepper. Stir in kale; 4. Simmer until kale is tender, 10 to 15 more minutes. 5. Serve and Enjoy!

Why You Should Support Local Restaurants If you're like us, you love food. And not just any food, but the kind of food that makes you feel good, tastes amazing, and doesn't break the bank. You know what I'm talking about: local restaurants. San Antonio Restaurants is all about supporting local restaurants! Local restaurants are the backbone of our communities. They provide us with delicious meals, friendly service, and a sense of belonging. They also support our local economy, create jobs, and preserve our culture and diversity. But local restaurants are facing tough times. The pandemic, the competition, the rising costs, and the changing consumer preferences are all putting pressure on them. Many of them are struggling to survive, and some have already closed their doors for good.

That's why we need to support them. We need to show them that we care, that we appreciate their hard work, and that we value their contribution to our society. We need to eat local, order local, tip local, and spread the word about local.

Here are some reasons why you should support local restaurants: - You get better food. Local restaurants use fresh ingredients, cook from scratch, and offer a variety of cuisines and flavors. You can find something for every taste and occasion, whether it's a pizza night, a sushi date, or a burger craving. - You get better service. Local restaurants treat you like family. They know your name, your order, and your preferences. They make you feel welcome, comfortable, and satisfied. They also take your feedback seriously and strive to improve their quality and service. - You get better value. Local restaurants offer reasonable prices, generous portions, and great deals. You can save money, enjoy more food, and get more bang for your buck. You also support the local economy by keeping your money in the community and creating more jobs and opportunities. - You get better experiences. Local restaurants create memorable moments. They have unique atmospheres, personalities, and stories. They host events, celebrations, and fundraisers. They connect you with other people who share your passion for food and community. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and support your local restaurants today. You'll be glad you did. And so will they.

WHY SANTIKOS IS THE GO-TO SPOT FOR FOOD, DRINKS AND FALL FOOTBALL The #1 movie theater chain in San Antonio will also be offering free popcorn to anyone who donates three non-perishable items during Hunger Action Month Written by: Lexi Hazlett, Santikos Digital Media Manager

The fall season is a big deal in Texas. Why? One word: football. And when you wake up in the morning and reach for that lucky jersey, you’ll start to think of where you’ll sit down for a few hours to cheer on your favorite team. The ultimate hangout will be Santikos. It’s not just the #1 movie theater in San Antonio. It’s also home to epic bars with a long list of beer, seltzer and cocktail selections, which will quinch your thirst while you’re yelling at the screen for the quarterback to just throw the ball already!

But here’s what you need to really do when you take a seat at one of our iconic bars: order food! There’s a long list of items to choose from, but there’s a few we specifically selected that fit with the fall football theme.

Epic Nachos (Chicken or Beef): these corn chips are tossed in your choice of spicy chicken or beef. It’s topped with melted cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream and jalapeños. Bacon Cheddar Tater Kegs: jumbo stuffed potato kegs are filled with cheese, chives, bacon bits and sour cream. Alamo Burger: a sizzling brisket beef patty is topped with bacon, BBQ sauce, melted cheese and crispy onion straws. This burger is a go-to menu item for foodies. Philly Cheesesteak: you might not think a movie theater would have the best cheesesteak around. But, once you get in on this best-kept secret, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. We use a thinly sliced ribeye beef, Swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms, onions and bell peppers inside an Italian sub roll to create the ultimate cheesesteak experience! Chocolate Chip Cookie: This sweet treat tastes just like grandma used to make ‘em, but dare we say, even better. It’s a generous-sized cookie that you’ll find in the “sweet endings” section of our menu. SANTIKOS TOOK CARE OF THE COMMUNITY IN THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER As our profits go back into the community through the San Antonio Area Foundation, why would you want to watch a movie anywhere else?

And when folks walked into our theaters this September to try those tasty menu items, or watch a film on the big screen, many brought three nonperishable goods to place inside the red Food Bank bins by Guest Services. In return, they received a free regular-sized popcorn and 30-minute game card in honor of Hunger Action Month. And in collaboration with the New Braunfels Food Bank and San Antonio Food Bank, with the help of special organizations and volunteers, we were able to distribute 63,664 pounds of food to 1,212 individuals from 370 families when we hosted a food drive at our Cibolo location. The San Antonio Food Bank provided a list of the twelve most wanted foods. These include: peanut butter, cereal, tuna, pop top food items, beans, rice, mac & cheese, full meals can/box, chili & soups, canned lunch meats, pet food and baby food & diapers. Just because Hunger Action Month is over doesn’t mean you can’t continue the giving. Santikos was honored to partner with these amazing organizations.

WHAT MAKES THE SANTIKOS POPCORN SO GOOD? The answer is practice. Did you know our Santikos employees go through a vigorous training process when hired? We host an academy guided by our talented managers who walk the employees through every little detail to ensure they are ready to serve YOU. And a big part of the training is how to make popcorn.

Santikos has perfected the butter to salt ratio, and you can taste the difference. We also refuse to let any popcorn go to waste. So, when we create a fresh batch, instead of throwing the old product away, we put it inside a plastic bin. At the end of the week, a local farmer collects the popcorn to feed his cattle. Seeing cattle run toward the popcorn is an experience you’ll have to see to believe. You’ll want to follow @MySantikos on social media for when we drop that soon-to-be viral video. Over the years, we realized guests were getting tired of waiting in line to get a refill of popcorn. So, we introduced our selfserve machines. Several of our locations have these, and you get to put as much popcorn and butter as you want in your bin without the hassle of getting back in line.

SANTIKOS DOES MORE We pride ourselves on the word “more” because we are always looking for more ways to get San Antonians to bring their business to a theater that takes care of the community. And what better way to spread the messaging of Santikos than to expand across the country. We acquired 17 theaters in the Southeast Region, making us North America’s 8th largest theater chain. The acquisition increases the footprint of Santikos from 121 screens (10 locations) to 377 screens in 27 locations in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina.

Signing the definitive purchase agreement in July, we acquired The Grand Theatres and AmStar Cinemas from VSS-Southern Theatres, LLC ("Southern Theatres"). Tim Handren, CEO of Santikos, said, "We are thrilled to welcome our new team members and serve our new guests. Together we will continually evolve to create the best in-theater experience across the Southeast." ARE YOU COMING TO SANTIKOS? We sure hope so! Explore our website for movie tickets, food and drink items and discounts offered throughout the week. Follow us on social media @MySantikos because Santikos does MORE.
