Within architecture, water evokes sentiments of calmness and wellbeing The element has influenced design through its dynamic and fluid nature
At first glance, building a pool right beside another body of water seems a little redundant
However, for people with limited mobility and younger more inexperienced swimmers, natural bodies of water can prove both daunting and dangerous This not only provides a controlled, secure space for them to enjoy aquatic activities, they also provide a connection with the surrounding landscape

This labyrinth of stone and water encapsulates the enigmatic nature of water, suggesting a deep, hidden knowledge waiting to be unveiled It beckons visitors to explore the structure, mirroring the intricate pathways that water follows from the Siruvani Hills to Courtallam Falls, fostering a profound connection between people and water
It combines the solidity of stone with the fluidity of water, embodying the project's core concept of merging architecture with the movement patterns of water and people Its design represents the profound dialogue between people and water, with the stone labyrinth serving as a conduit for this quiet conversation

The journey of the water commences at the highest point of the project, where it takes on the form of a cascading waterfall, beginning its descent It navigates through the project's design, making deliberate pauses at various points along its path
The walls have been skillfully adapted to act as water carriers, guiding the flow down towards the central channel Throughout this journey, a thoughtful interplay of edge conditions has been ingeniously crafted, offering opportunities for people to engage with the flowing water, creating spaces where human interaction and water's natural course converge, fostering a truly immersive experience
The water reservoirs within the areas gather rainwater from the waterfalls, while the courtyards function as a response to the local climate
The waterways running alongside the route transport water from its source to the river, complemented by the water descending through the wall spouts
These designated areas, intended as resting points for both water and individuals, foster opportunities for interaction while also serving as contemplative spaces for self-reflection
As water flows through the structure, it embarks on a journey winding its way, mirroring nature's artistry, until it finally cascades into the Courtallam Falls

Documentation of the Admar Mutt, a rich repository of Madhava culture and an enduring legacy spanning 800 years It highlights the interplay of sacred and semisacred spaces, the retelling of ancestral stories, and the worship of deities, serving as a tangible link to the intangible aspects significant to this small community
Our aim is to showcase the heritage, traditional architecture & vernacular design of these underappreciated structures

Crafting architectural models is a tactile and immersive experience that engages all senses, from selecting materials and manipulating them to sculpting intricate details

Each intricate carving for every architectural feature demanded utmost attention and care The precision required for every element of the model, with each piece meticulously cut and drawn to exact dimensions and details
This process not only honed my craftsmanship but also instilled in me a profound appreciation for the artistry and precision that went into the original Admar structures It was a truly gratifying and indulgent experience, where the passion for preserving this heritage shone through in every stroke and cut made
Mysore Precinct Model
The process of creating the entire Mysore precinct for urban design was a meticulous endeavor that spanned over months. It commenced with the careful drafting of each component, considering every facet of the urban landscape. These intricate plans were then translated into physical form using laser cutting technology.
The next phase of the project involved the assembly of the model. Each piece, cut with precision to match the exact dimensions and details from the drawings, was a unique part of the larger puzzle. As the pieces came together, it was like witnessing a grand architectural jigsaw puzzle taking shape.
This hands-on process required both skill and patience, as each element played a critical role in bringing the urban design vision to life. The tangible result was a comprehensive, three-dimensional representation of the Mysore precinct, capturing not only the physical aspects but also the essence of the city's urban character.
