Always remember where you come from.’ Mahikeng based multi talented artist and producer, Veekay is ready to take over Mzansi after his hit songs One Love, Chasing Shadows, Tonight and Summer Love became a craze in Germany, England, Australia, USA, Netherlands and Portugal. The 27 year old appears very humble, loves and respects people. He describes himself as crazy about music and ever smiling; a very ambitious person who doesn't believe in quitting and a budding philanthropist who believes in changing people's lives with his music. Carli: Always take what you do seriously but don’t take yourself too seriously. I think it’s about working hard and consistently and doing your best – after that we can’t control what happens Ambi: Who’s your role model and why? Carli: I actually have many role models. My brother once said to me that he admires something in every person who is close to him and that is why he has chosen the friends he has. This made me think a lot. I now look up to many different people and try model my life and behaviors on all the good qualities of those closest to me. they both exhibit such amazing and admirable qualities. Ambi: Have you been involved in any charities and in what way? We used to make them lunch and !ll the afternoon with fun interactive games and sports. It was a wonderful experience because we got to know the children from the school and developed a great relationship with them! One of my favorite areas to support are charities that are aimed at bettering the lives and futures of children. Ambi: What’s the funniest mistake you’ve ever made? Carli: Well I have been told that when I was a little girl I fell of the jungle gym and hurt my chin. I then ran to my mom crying “Mommy! I hurt my beard!” :) Ambi: You seem to be so full of amazing energy … where can I get some? J Carli: Hehe! Aww thanks! I am the kind of person who likes to be very active – to be honest I’m not sure where it comes from but I think one of the places that I get my energy is from training – I love to run, swim and gym and I always feel more energized when I am !nished exercising!! In retrospect it was perhaps a little naive, I mean we still only play to 10 people after all these years. Now please do not misunderstand me, I am not blaming the more “successful” bands, I am not even pissed at the promoters or the club owners......I am pissed off at the apathy that we all have towards our scene.....I am pissed off at our fundamental 'aws as human beings... Morne Linell - Photo by The Rock!nder

“The way to Succeed and the way to suck eggs...” - An observational view of the South African Metal scene – by Morné Linnell I have been paying live music for approximately 12 years; prior to starting a band I supported the scene, going to go watch bands like Groinchurn, VOD, etc. I have endeavoured to remove myself from the “politics” of the scene as I have found that it is just a distraction from the end goal, to enjoy playing metal live. Having said this though, I feel I need to voice my opinion, not that I expect to change anything, but I feel it would be cathartic, and is that not the point of having the internet, the proverbial soap box. From personal experience I have noticed a recurring trend in our scene, hard work and determination will not get you anywhere, dedication even less so. If you want to be successful, you have to be able to swallow. Now I know that is crude and perhaps harsh of me, but this is my rant and I will phrase it however I want. In the band I play for now we have 1 simple rule, we will not get on a stage with the taste of dick in our mouths...

The school aims to become a creative hub where these young, talented individuals are able to pursue their dreams and develop skills, through a shared passion for music. The aim is also for the school to become a landmark in the community of Langa. Through various fundraising initiatives BFM has already raised over R2-million in funds, which covers the initial build of the school. Most notably a highly successful charity cycle in 2014 organised by Resident Advisor from London to Amsterdam (during ADE) raised over £100,000 (R1,8m) with the support of over 2,800 donors and the sponsors of the cycle (Native Instruments, ADE, Pioneer DJ and SONOS). Thirty riders in total were able to take part in the challenge thanks to Resident Advisor who covered the costs of the cycle to enable 100% of the donations to go to the Langa music and multimedia school. The Legendary Ministry Live in South Africa (One Night Only)! Industrial Metal Godfathers Ministry are set to tear the faces off Johannesburg on 4 March 2015. The band are playing a once-off show as part of their current world tour at Carfax in Newtown Johannesburg and will be supported by South Africa's very own Terminatryx and The Slash Dogs. With a pioneering history spanning over 30 years the band was formed in 1981 by lead singer Al Jourgensen, originally as a new wave synthpop out!t. They subsequently changed their style to industrial metal in the late 80s. Ministry found mainstream success in the early 1990s with their most successful album Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs (1992) and touring as part of the Lollapalooza festival. After 27 years of performing, Jourgensen decided to end the band in 2008, claiming a reunion would never happen. However, in August 2011, a reunion was announced when Ministry con!rmed they would play one of their !rst shows in four years at the

Wacken Open Air Festival in August 2012. Ministry released a new album titled Relapse in March 2012, that was followed by a world tour. Following the death of long time guitarist Mike Scaccia, Ministry released their last album From Beer to Eternity in September 2013. Tickets are R480 and available through
