Sam Sipling Mrs. Chaffin 9th Lit/Comp Honors 25 April 2019 The Feeling of Love Everyone has different views on love and what love means to them. Love is a complex, yet simple concept that humans can all perceive differently. The love that two people share for each other can change the lives of lovers and others positively or poorly. In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, love is the glue that mends the broken bridge between the two households and restoring peace in the fair city of Verona. In the play, Romeo and Juliet share love with one another unimaginable. The two families couldn’t get close to slowing their passion. Juliet knew the possible outcomes if she is near Romeo for just a moment. She knows the impact that will be left on her family if she is caught with Romeo, but that is the risk she is willing to take for he whom she loves. Yet, she takes a risk and put it up to fate with the montague Romeo, for her love is deep and the more she gives to thee the stronger her love gets (Shakespeare 2.2). The lovers were never aiming to restore the peace in the city of Verona through their love. Juliet always hated the montagues with a passion, but her only love sprung from her only hate (Shakespeare 1.5). Romeo and Juliet didn’t mean to stop the houses’ fighting and end the feud. Romeo and Juliet are just fighting for their right to love one another. Romeo is a montague, yet the sheer power of their love will outrule the houses and force the families to understand that they must forgive one another
