Samsic UK provide manguarding services to protect and support Coty’s busy Bournemouth and Ashford sites. The wider security team is comprised of ten officers, with each specific site team based within a central gatehouse. The core responsibilities of the security function are site access control, deliveries, CCTV, patrolling, and the monitoring of building management systems.

The Challenge
When Coty’s relationship with their former service providers in Ashford and Bournemouth came to an end, management saw the opportunity to reassess the business’ needs. Coty management wanted to engage with a forward-thinking security provider who possessed the passion and commitment to reduce risk, increase resilience and create a security solution bespoke to Coty.

Our team of experienced security professionals undertook a complete review of security operations on-site and designed, implemented, and, executed a proven mobilisation plan. The mobilisation plan ensured a valueadding security solution was embedded from day one.
The Samsic security team has made a real difference to site security, we’ve seen a significant improvement in security processes and feel that our facilities are more secure as a result. The technology introduced by Samsic really supports the site security teams and the automated reporting has increased productivity and reduced a significant amount of paper used across the facility. We will continue to explore opportunities to use additional features of this technology and to challenge Samsic to demonstrate continual improvement initiatives.

Emphasis was placed on delivering an Employee Engagement model designed to energise the existing security team, which encouraged them to go the extra mile and delight our newly acquired client.

SALVATION ARMY
The Salvation Army is a national charity that works with communities across the country, providing a range of services such as providing emergency shelter, helping victims of modern slavery, offering debt advice, hosting concerts, community engagement groups, and children’s nurseries. Samsic UK provides security services for the Salvation Army headquarters in London and their residential premises in Sunbury.
The Benefits
The client has a strong relationship with our officers. Our officers collaborated closely with the client’s FM team during the COVID-19 crisis, especially when covering reception duties; it was a ‘one team’ approach. At the London corporate HQ, in the aftermath of the London Bridge terror attack in 2017, their cafe area was a haven for members of the public. Our officers made for a secure, reassuring presence, including bag checks. At the Sunbury site, a residential hotel-style facility for visiting delegates, our officers help to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests. We also created an internal award scheme known as an ‘OSCR’: ‘Outstanding Service Contribution Recognition’, as both an incentive and reward for outstanding performance.
The Challenge
When we initially approached the Salvation Army, they were struggling with some compliance gaps in their existing service, such as unlicensed officers, and handling of sensitive information - which is a huge concern for a charity like the Salvation Army. The client was looking for a reputable provider on SIA’s approved contractor list, with a proven commitment to sourcing and training licensed officers, as well as an excellent track record all other areas of compliance.
The Solution
We achieved an outstanding result in our external SIA audit, placing us in the top 5% of approved contractors. Our dedicated SHEQ officers keep our teams up to date with compliance regulations as they emerge.
