While neglecting the attention to the existing buildings, as they are either violations or buildings with temporary licenses, most of the existing buildings have deteriorated during the war. They have become places that collect Garbage and dirt.
Also, we notice a low percentage of licensed buildings.
Length: 12 kmArea: 842.3 ha
The area of the project consists of the Remaining administrative spaces from the surrounding towns without any organizing or planning.
We notice a decrease in the percentage of land occupied for construction within the land. And the vacancy rate is significantly increased.
THE GENERAL COMPANY FOR STUDIES AND CONSULTATIONS PROPOSAL:
The idea of this alternative is to obtain investment areas with green spaces on the axis and dispense with the residential and industrial characteristic
OUR PROPOSAL:
The idea of this alternative It is to find an urban characteristic for each of the islands so that all parts work as one. Which helps to operate all parts of the axis by distributing these activities in a thoughtful and systematic manner.
The investment and tourism characteristic is dominating as we get closer to the city of Damascus.
By moving away from the city, we are trying to activate the agricultural and agriculture industry characteristics of the axis in an attempt to take advantage of the advantages of the site and its soil.
Island A
Area: 190 ha perimeter: 6601 m
Island B Area: 100 ha perimeter: 4482 m
Island C
Area: 185 ha perimeter: 6639 m
Island D Area: 190 ha perimeter: 6463 m
Using these crops for the agriculture industry as an attempt to supply Damascus with food stocks as much as possible instead of obtaining this stock from the rest of the governorates.
To ensure the speed and quality of work creating agricultural housing areas for farmers to facilitate their lives and work
The order of organizing the islands was to build on stages from island E to island A
By following this order
- we encourage the investors
- Build the new areas from the revenues of the built areas
- Taking advantage of the site
The studied island is island A
After looking at the city of Damascus and analyzing the existing problems:
1- Adopting a policy of zone separation in most towns, thus creates dead zones.
2- Public and green spaces are not monitored at night, thus creates an environment for crime and immoral behaviors
3- Lack of green and public spaces
4- Streets are not pedestrian-friendly and user-friendly.
Sub-street

Parkings on one side of the street
Protect the pedestrian and bicycle riders by creating green buffer
Main-street
