What is Climate Change? Scientists have found that the world’s global temperature is rising. This has led to climate change – the changing pattern of weather over a long period of time. Human activities, such as burning fossil fuels to power factories and cars, large-scale farming and deforestation all contribute to changing the climate.

Sadly, global warming doesn’t just mean nice warm weather and more opportunities to eat ice cream. It means the weather is getting less predictable and more extreme.

Do you remember reading the Feeding Hope comic strip in the 9 January issue of Kids Alive !? It was about a farmer in Zimbabwe called Jane t who was struggling to grow crops on her farm. One of the reasons farmers, such as Janet, are struggling to grow crops is because of climate change.

What Can We Do? Every year, The Salvation Army gets involved in Show the Love – a celebration of everything we care about and want to protect from the worst impacts of the climate crisis. There are lots of creative ways to take part...
