Rumba Group Class Would you like to learn to dance the Rumba? It’s a romantic Latin dance. The music is slow and the moves are flirty and fun! Thursday, August 4th – September 8th, 5:30 to 6:30 pm, $60/Person (6 week course).

Jim also was invited to attend the 4th biennial Plein Air Cashiers in Cashiers, N.C. on July 12-16. Thirty nationally known artists participated. This was Jim’s fourth Cashiers festival. Jim will offer an indoor workshop in his studio in Saluda, titled “Painting in the Studio/Brushwork Boot Camp” on Sept 22-24. It is open to beginners through advanced.

Jim Carson/Oil Painters of America Jim Carson’s oil painting titled “The Long View of the Gulf” has been accepted to this year’s Oil Painters of America Salon Show of Traditional Oils. The 2016 exhibition will be held at Castle Gallery Fine Art, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Sept 30- Oct 29, 2016. The goal of the OPA is to assemble the finest display of approximately 275 representational oil paintings. The focus of the jurying process is to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.

William Jameson Workshops Paint Taos, NM September 12-16, 2016 Please join us for 5 days of painting in and around Taos, NM. The architecture and dramatic western landscapes provide amazing subjects for painters. Very few spaces remain so register for this now! Taos has a long history as a draw for artists including Georgia O'Keefe, Ansel Adams and writer D.H.Lawrence. There will be 30 hours of plein air painting with demonstrations daily, one-on-one instruction and critiques. Open for beginners to advanced painters with instruction in oil, watercolor, acrylic, and pen and ink sketching. You may work in any or all media. We will be staying at the historic Sagebrush Inn with its wonderful "cowboy" theme. There is entertainment in the evening so be sure to bring your hat and boots!
