JUNE GARDENING ON THE EDGE The Maleny Garden Club’s annual garden trail and garden market. Foundation member Olga Webster, 92, recalls how the club started after a severe hailstorm ruined a lot of dahlias in the 1950s. Rather than waste their beauty, it was decided to stage a floral carpet in the School of Arts, hence the Dahlia Show originated. “We danced around the carpet at night and proceeds went to the School of Arts. It was very successful and became an annual event.
