This proposal outlines a framework for planning family reunions that will not only bring us together as a family but also have a community impact, promote our businesses and projects, and make our fees taxdeductible.

ExecutiveSummary

Introduction

Orebeaux Family Legacy Foundation (501c3 nonprofit)

Mission: To strengthen families and communities through education, service, faith, and culture—empowering each generation to lead with purpose, compassion, and unity.

Vision: To build strong, connected families and vibrant communities that embody compassion, integrity, and resilience through education, service, faith, and cultural heritage. We envision a legacy of empowered generations working together to promote unity, learning, and social well-being.

Tagline: “Family. Faith. Service. Legacy.”

Problems

01

02

We have been trying to plan a family reunion for years, but without success.

03

We need a framework in place to facilitate continuous planning, fundraising, and coordination.

Family reunions can be cost-prohibitive. It would be helpful to find a way to make the reunion affordable or offer some sort of financial benefit.

Solution

CreateaFamilyNonProfit

Creating a family nonprofit will allow us to have community impact, create a legacy, and make the donations to the foundation for family reunion planning tax-deductible.

Activities

Smaller, quarterly outreach activities

One larger community outreach activity during our annual meeting/board meeting

Annual scholarships or mini-grants

How?

The annual family reunion will also serve as the annual board meeting and large community outreach- the annual board meeting will be broken down into three smaller meetings: Friday (Mission & Strategy), Saturday (Finance & Budget), and Sunday (Program Development & Outreach Planning)

The donation/fees will be used to cover the refreshment/food expenses of the daily meeting- we spend a short amount of time on official business, then socialize

Additional merchandise (t-shirts, etc.) can be given as a thank-you gift for additional donations.

Additional social activities can be planned as optional. Family members would have to pay for these out of pocket.

Become established as a 50c3.

This can easily be done through Legal Zoom for a fee of $500.

Establish a board.

We would need a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer to start. Other roles can be added if we would like to do that.

Platform for fundraising.

By partnering with my existing fundraiser, Salt and Light Collaborative, we can utilize a fundraising software company that I currently contract with to create the event, manage registration, collect donations at one time or break them up into quarterly or monthly payments, and administer tax donation forms.

Timeline

We need to establish a date for our first reunion, outreach activities, etc.
