The theme for this year’s STEM Showcase was “The Future of Transportation” with projects including Heart Rate Detection to Prevent Devastation, Self-Driving Car, Ground Proximity Sensor and Solar E-Bike Charging Station.

Cecilia Gossler award from UA

Ms. Gossler, STEM Center Director and Engineering Teacher, was honored as the University of Arizona’s Systems & Industrial Engineering Department’s Alumna of the Year.

First-ever Laudato Si’ Recycle Drive

Salpointe’s Laudato Si’ committee hosted their firstever recycle drive, where they collected e-waste (cables, computers, phones), batteries and paint.

Solar Oven Throwdown

Seniors in Salpointe’s Engineering 102 class attended the Solar Oven Throwdown at the U of A, working with over 300 college engineering students. Engineering 102 is a dual credit engineering course offered at Salpointe in partnership with the U of A.
