A Letter from the Principal

Dear Students, Staff, Parents and Community Members, Thank you for welcoming me and my family into the Salpointe community and for the opportunity to go on this incredible journey with you. This past academic year has been filled with remarkable accomplishments, notable challenges and countless memorable moments.

With the fire just two weeks after starting my Salpointe journey, I had the opportunity to see our community at its best. The love and generosity that was shown to our school still warms my heart. I knew immediately that becoming a Lancer was a gift from God. Gifts from God continued to show up early on as I watched teachers, displaced by the fire, cross campus from one end to the other to eat lunch together. Our English teachers became the best of friends with Theology, science and history teachers.

Our school recognizes the importance of mental health and well-being. We implemented a wellness program, hosted guest speakers on mental health awareness and facilitated a variety of programs to help our students through this amazing and difficult time in their lives. As we look towards next year with our new schedule, we will be able to expand this initiative through community periods and an increase in differentiated and engaging offerings.

As we continue to close the COVID learning gaps through intervention, we commit to raising the bar for our students. The academic rigor at Salpointe remains steadfast as we prepare our students for college and beyond.

The Class of 2023 celebrated their graduation, marking a milestone in their educational journey. We saw an increase in academic scholarships this year, showcasing the dedication and hard work of our students. We increased the number of AP courses and showed improvement in our PSAT scores. Our STEM department continued to shine with their participation in Racing the Sun, and our STEM Director, Cecilia Gossler, was awarded the University of Arizona’s Systems & Industrial Engineering Department’s Alumna of the Year.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the students, parents, staff and community members for their unwavering support and commitment to our school. Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones, faced challenges head-on and continued to nurture our vibrant learning environment. I am immensely proud to be part of this exceptional school community.
