A Letter from the Board Chair

Hi, Lancers!

I want to start by thanking all of you for your support and caring for Salpointe Catholic High School. We all know how critical Salpointe’s mission is to the lifelong success of the students we serve. Your caring dedication to the Salpointe community and students is greatly appreciated.

I know how much all of you care because of your unsolicited support last summer when we learned that the wing at the southeast corner of the campus was destroyed by a senseless arson fire. Many of you offered to help even before we asked for help or knew how we would rebuild or what it would cost. Thank you!

We can now tell you that, because of your generosity, and the leadership of our exceptional staff, the tragedy has been turned into an opportunity. We will be replacing the destroyed one story building with a new elegant two-story structure. This two-story building will allow Salpointe to accommodate all its teaching faculty and allow Salpointe to add a wellness program focused on the physical and mental health of our students.

I was shocked when I learned of the arson, but delighted when I heard of the new plan and your response. The generosity of Salpointe’s many supporters and the creativity of Salpointe’s leadership and staff has caused me to see this tragedy as a blessing. Thank you for your continued support of, and prayers for, Salpointe.

Sincerely,

Pat Lopez, Class of ’74 and Chairman of the Board of Directors
