Realizing Nolli’s Dream: Embedding Architecture in City
The front road of LD College of Engineering has the university busstop, in Ahmedabad. This bus stop is used by many college students and employees. This edge has a potential to accommodate different supporting program and activities for users during there variable waiting time period. Supporting programs like Reading Stall, Ven dor spot, Tea stall & Washrooms are added considering interests of the user groups. It is necessary to increase the width of the edge to accommodate all the activities without disturbing the rapid move ment in transit. All this activities are beneficiary to college through small direct access. The exhibition space could be commissioned to be used by other college or organization or institutions as well. The edge is designed to cater life on both sides.

Realizing Nolli’s Dream: Embedding Architecture in City Sachin Soni
The vision of this project is to provide Facilities that caters to everyone in immediate context to the metro station in shahpur, Ahmedabad with economical, and social opportunities through secondary and tertiary programs. The aim is to improve quality of their life style.
The program for skill up-gradation and individual growth is derived through critical analysis of site through various different lenses. One such primary lens is rethinking Nolli’s map of Rome which denotes white spaces as public space & black as private to todays in-between Grey areas with subjected accessibility.
The idea is to use the transit infrastructure as a source of information and exposure to new technologies. Use of existing resources, market, skills to enhance & develop new skills and support inclusive growth. To provide opportunities to learn, interact and connect to the world through this medium. Existing commercial activities and upcoming skill centers directs it to become home center which provides good potential to open up new business sectors such as glass, light, and home decor industries, etc. With already established customer network of parallel sectors.

The Project is in Bagneux, Paris responding to rising demands of housing for families and students. Major HLM (social housing) projects are taking place here as the prices here WThe project focuses on designing compact units with addition of social and commercial interventions to generate better life quality.
Basic additional activities are added in preference to primary requirements of inhabitant to create autonomous leisure life in the surrounding context.
The design is integrated to bring maximum natural light inside the building core till ground floor to avoid creating dark corridors and having openings for a unit only on one side .
Different types of units are used to cater to different requirements and preferences

The community center is located on slightly sloped context of Mandu in Madhya Pradesh. The existing context has Jamniya Mahal with a dome connected to the road through experiential pathway. On the northeast side one small water body adds to the richness of site. The project respects the importance and hierarchy of the existing context through the repeated organization of a module.
The module and spanning system of ribbed vault are used to form large spaces for activities, workshops, & performances. The supporting spaces with vaults in perpendicular direction to central vault span & cross vault are used are used for services, transition spaces, intimate small gathering spaces, supporting different small scale functions and even circulation. The smaller spaces have opening outside into nature. Each opening from this space creates perfect frame for nature. This character allows them to act as break out space from larger gathering space.

The project is redesigned home from childhood memories in a 6m pit with additional program of café and workshop space above ground level with reference of community. The space is designed for seminar, awareness program, & exhibition center. Women, children, and youth circle are primary user groups. The workshop space accommodates 15 to 20 people max.
The three courtyards interact with public and private spaces differently respecting privacy of residents and interacting adjoining spaces differently. The connection through central courtyards to public and private spaces makes the project a neighborhood scale intervention.

FACULTY:
Mohammed Ayaz Khan Pathan
The project is a viewing deck designed in tensile structure system. It is located in deserted region of Lakhpat Kutch, which has potential of becoming center of tourist attraction. The spiral form of viewing deck comes through the process of abstraction of the neck movement of giraffe while doing various activities like fighting. The derived form has arrived through the process of refining abstraction by arriving at constant factors that defines the form which resembles the primary idea of abstraction. This helped in defining constant values to the variables which define its unique spiral form around 480degrees.
Along with the form supporting structure of three mast and multiple tensile cable is designed to support the form. The joineries are articulated to follow similar language and adhere by the norms of tensegrity structure.

NARRATIVE OF BHADRA PLAZA
COURSE: FACULTY:
Built Environment & The Stories of Inhabiting: From The Perspective of an Elephant
Manalee Nanavati & Shilpa Mevada
BHADRA PLAZA MINIATURE GRAPHIC : NARRATIVE WITH THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE ELEPHANT SUJI
“Being an animal I am dependent on so many people which allows me to add different memories to their narratives which influences my own. I mostly inhabits the Bhadhra plaza for resting purpose as it provides me opportunity to interact with different spaces, my elephant friends and people. The backyard garden of Bhadhra plaza is designed to accommodate me and my other elephant friends in afternoon. The small sized rooms adjacent to the garden make me curious where only humans can enter.
This same place at times become overwhelming for me because of notorious kids who leave behind mouse to scare us. While plaza, courtyard spaces become joyful and tiring in evening with collaborative performance with dancers and singers which helps in attracting people’s attention, while the owner is always very strict during performance. On other hand rides through this crowded streets are fun to watch people bargain and enjoying shopping Sometimes i like to tease them with my body size which troubles them. Some times there are intimate eye contacts with the people in balcony on my eye level.“
Every Built environment( let it be a public space, an institution, or even a home) is defined by its co-existing structures. These structures may have different languages or follow the same, but each one of them create a different type of space. Each elements of these individual spaces are articulated differently to cater to the activities and nourish memories by responding with the senses of each one of us differently. They even play a different role in each narrative based on an individual’s lifestyle (need) and perception. Each living being has different nature of adaption to their surrounding environment based on one’s biased perception, which stimulates their emotions. Understanding Other perceptions towards the built can connect us to their emotions and how this built would affect them. One such narrative is envisaged with the perception of an elephant. In this an elephant is personified to understand more of its requirements from built spaces in Bhadhra plaza and Manik Chowk area of Ahmedabad and manipulate surroundings according to the needs of elephant Suji.

GRAVURE 2 @ ENSAPB Simon Vingnaud
The still life composition of various tools & spoon is developed through exploration of forms and understanding the balance in the frame. It is engraved on zinc plate. The process stages and final stages show the journey of documenting light, shadow, & texture of different material like wood and metal with different finishes.
FACADE OF RÈSERVOIR DE MONTMARTRE
The one point perspective view captured near Sacré Coeur in Paris highlighting the facade of a building which accentuates the use of three types of material. The etching on copper plate tries to capture the difference between their texture brings a poetic expression of architecture. The building is perfect back drop for Sacré Coeur and is also part of journey to the hill top. The frame captures the play in the facade through light and shadow effect of arches.
