As we step from the golden warmth of summer into the crisp embrace of autumn, I’ve been reminded of just how constant change is in our lives Nature shows us this so beautifully with the vibrant colours fading into deep, earthy tones, the slower pace, the invitation to reflect and reset
This season of transition feels especially meaningful to me as my husband Joseph and I recently celebrated our 20-year wedding anniversary in the beautiful coastal town of Elounda, Greece. Surrounded by stunning sunsets and the sound of the sea, I couldn’t help but reflect on how far we’ve come together through seasons of joy, challenge, growth, and renewal
Much like the cycles of the seasons, our personal journeys and even our hair journeys are always evolving Autumn is the perfect time to pause, reflect, and nurture ourselves in preparation for the colder months ahead
As we embrace autumn, I encourage you to find moments to reflect on your own milestones, big or small, and to step confidently into this new season knowing that change is a gift. It allows us to grow, strengthen, and flourish. With love and gratitude.

Deep condition regularly: Ensure to use a deep conditioning mask with natural oils at least once a week Keep your hair moisturised: No moisture is too much, always keep your oils locked in Do not wash too often: Avoid too close wash days and if you must, try co-washing with a colour safe conditioner.
Use colour safe products: We highly recommend Goldwell Dual Senses range for colour after care products Avoid heat styling: Avoid heat styling and if you must, use heat protective products Even better, visit the salon for professional care.

When it comes to healthy hair, what you put in your body is just as important, if not more, than what you put on your hair. Think of nutrition as the soil that feeds your hair from the inside out
Here are 5 nutrition tips to help you reach your hair goals naturally and holistically:
1. Feed Your Follicles with Iron & Zinc
Excessive shedding is a common concern, and low iron levels can be a major contributor. Iron helps your red blood cells deliver oxygen to the scalp, while zinc supports healthy oil glands and cell repair
2. Hydrate
Your body is around 70% water, and staying hydrated supports nutrient delivery to the scalp. Herbal teas such as hibiscus or peppermint also provide minerals that nourish the hair

3. Prioritise Protein Rich Foods
Your hair is primarily made of a protein called keratin Without enough protein in your diet, you may experience thinning and slower growth Some hair boosting proteins are, lentils & chickpeas, quinoa & other whole grains These proteins keep strands strong, elastic, and resilient against breakage
4. Don’t Skip Healthy Fats
Essential fatty acids, like Omega 3s, keep your scalp nourished and your hair soft and elastic Afrotextured hair is naturally drier, so healthy fats are your friend Some sources are avocados, nuts, chia & flaxseeds These fats also help reduce breakage and promote shine.
5. Embrace Vitamins
Vitamins A, C, D, and B-complex (especially Biotin and B12) are essential for hair growth and scalp health You can find them in common foods like sweet potatoes, carrots, broccoli, leafy greens, kiwi, strawberries and bananas.
So, take care of your health, and your hair will thank you!
Have a Question About Hair? She’s Your Girl.
A.One of the most common questions I hear is about hair growth, and the truth is, healthy hair growth starts with a healthy scalp and consistent care.
Many people focus only on length, but your scalp is like the soil where hair grows, so it must be nourished I always recommend a regular cleansing routine to remove product build-up, followed by deep conditioning to restore moisture.
Protective styles are great for reducing breakage, but avoid keeping them in for too long as this can stress the hair and scalp Hydration is key, both from the inside by drinking water, and outside with leave-in conditioners and natural oils to seal in moisture.
Trim your ends regularly to prevent split ends from travelling up the hair shaft Most importantly, be patient and gentle with your hair Growth takes time, but with consistency, you’ll notice the difference in strength, shine, and length. Remember, healthy hair is beautiful hair at every stage.
Hair maintenance in the dry season can be tasking as a result of temperature falls, but who says the gloom has to stop your hair from growing?
We understand how stressful it might be to find the right routine and products Here’s a quick checklist to see you through the cold months
1.Moisturise regularly – swap lightweight products for richer creams or oils to combat autumn dryness.
2.Protect your scalp – massage in natural oils like jojoba or castor oil to prevent flakiness.
3.Cover up – wear a satin-lined cap or hat to shield hair from cold winds.
4.Trim often – keep ends neat to reduce breakage from dry, brittle air.
5.Stay hydrated – healthy hair starts within, so drink water and eat nutrient-rich foods.
