Summer Holiday School Break Not too long before summer is upon us and with it of course the summer school break.

We thought we could help by putting together a what's on list for you.

This is the time to book your family for one of the many courses, workshops and activities below.Some of them free , other come with a tiny price .

SUMMER SCHOOL HOLIDAYS FARCYCLES Cycle training from 5th to 9th of August at the Faringdon Cycle Park.

Each day: 9-10 Getting little ones started on balance bikes (we have a stock of 10 balance bikes) 10-11 Progressing from balance bikes or bikes with stabilisers to pedalling a bike 11-12 Preparation for cycling on the roads / road safety It's FREE! Best to come each day if possible, but not essential.

Bring your own bike if you have one, but we do have a stock of bikes for use in training sessions.

FARINGDON COMMUNITY BUS PROVIDING LOCAL TRANSPORT FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY Faringdon Community Bus arranges Trips to local towns and places of interest and to events within easy travelling distance of Faringdon. Weekday afternoon trips plan to allow at least 2 hours at the chosen destination and can be as diverse as visiting a local garden centre, out of town shops or a major historic city. Weekend day trips plan to allow at least 5 hours at the chosen destination and again can be as diverse as visiting a national exhibition or a day at the seaside.

Time spent at the destination depends largely on the distance travelled and the published return time.

A round of applause to Farcycle FARCYCLES HAS JUST CELEBRATED THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE FARINGDON CYCLE PARK IN FOLLY PARK. THE FARCYCLES TEAM LIKES TO CALL THEMSELVES A “LOOSELY CONNECTED BUNCH OF A COUPLE OF HUNDRED PEOPLE ON BICYCLES -OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES - WHO JUST LOVE CYCLING TOGETHER IN THE STUNNING COUNTRYSIDE AROUND FARINGDON".

THANKS TO THE EUROPEAN AGRICULTURAL FUND (LEADER), AND TWO GRANT AWARDS FROM FARINGDON TOWN COUNCIL, FARCYCLES HAS SUCCESSFULLY CREATED A BEAUTIFUL OUTDOOR TRACK FOR CYCLE TRAINING. THE CYCLE PARK IS A SAFE CYCLING AREA FOR CHILDREN, AND FOR THOSE WISHING TO LEARN TO RIDE, LOCATED ON PREVIOUSLY UNUSED LAND ON FOLLY SPORTS PARK. THE CYCLE PARK FEATURES A MINI-LAYOUT OF FARINGDON’S ROAD NETWORK WITH JUNCTIONS, ROUNDABOUTS AND BUILDINGS WITH FUN LANDSCAPING AND A SAFE STORAGE AREA FOR BIKES AND EQUIPMENT.
