The panda family would spend the day snoozing in the shade of the bamboo trees. And when they weren’t snoozing, they would munch on the long bamboo leaves. And when they weren’t munching, they would crunch on the tough bamboo stems.

Munch, crunch! Munch, crunch!

But Little Panda had had bamboo for breakfast . . . She’d had bamboo for lunch. She didn’t want bamboo for dinner too! “There must be something else I can eat,” Little Panda thought to herself, This is an advance, uncorrected proof. andNot shefordecided to go and resale, duplication, or find it. reposting. “There’s some nice juicy lichen that’s fallen from this tree,” said one monkey. “You might like that.”

But the lichen was all icky and sticky, and Little Panda didn’t like it one bit.

Nibble, nibble. Yuck!

But the seeds were all itty and bitty, and Little Panda didn’t like them one bit. “You’d have to eat a lot of them to feel full,” she thought, starting to feel quite hungry.

“Have you got anything nice to eat?” she asked the frog. “How about this wriggly worm?” suggested the frog. But the worm was much too slithery and slimy for Little Panda.

Just then, Red Panda came scampering through the forest.

“Hello,” he said. “Why do you look so miserable?” “Because I’m very, very hungry,” said Little Panda. “And I really, really want something yummy for dinner.”

“Did you find something nice to eat?” asked Little Panda’s mommy when she returned to her panda family. “Yes, thank you!” said Little Panda as she settled down for a nice long snooze. “And I’m going to eat it again for breakfast too!” Goodnight, Little Panda!
