Welcome to the Salem Art Fair & Festival Presented by Spirit Mountain Casino and produced by the Salem Art Association, the Salem Art Fair & Festival has become the premier summer event in the mid-Willamette Valley and is now one of the nation’s top-ranked art festivals. We thank you for joining us to celebrate the arts, our local heritage and the future of our cultural landscape. These are important bonds that help maintain the health of our community. This program, created by Salem Weekly in close collaboration with the Salem Art Association, details the exciting activities that await you. There truly is something for everyone: fine art, functional crafts, kids’ activities, good food, craft beers, regional wines, and music by the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies and Grammy-nominated blues artist Ruthie Foster among other talented music groups. On the pages that follow, you’ll find photos of the work of nearly two hundred participating visual artists to help you make those hard choices. Be sure to stop by the Bush Barn Art Center for Sculptural Conversations: Works by the Pacific Northwest Sculptors and live sculpture demonstrations on the adjacent lawn. And don’t miss the (Women Photographers) exhibit at the Bush House Museum. The Salem Art Fair & Festival is the major fundraising event for the Salem Art Association. It also benefits more than sixty other nonprofit organizations. Your attendance and purchases support SAA’s community arts education, gallery exhibitions and heritage programs throughout the year. Please visit the Bush Barn Art Center for more information, and visit us online at www.SalemArt.org.
