Excellence What does Sale Grammar School offer?

We specialise in A Level teaching and have a reputation as one of the largest and most successful Sixth Forms in Greater Manchester.

We offer teaching from specialist A Level teachers which leads to impressive examination results.

We offer a wide range of A Level courses.

We provide students with personal support and enrichment projects. The Handbook available on our website explains the many opportunities for you as a Sale Grammar School Sixth Form student.

We have regular monitoring, assessment and reporting of progress to inform parents and students.

We provide thorough preparation for university applications, including UCAS and entrance exams for Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group universities.

We give students well informed and impartial careers guidance.

Facilities Considering A Levels is exciting, with many new possibilities. Our new Sixth Form building contains work space, socialising and group work areas. The Learning Resource Centre and Library enables focused individual work. The specialist facilities for our range of subjects are impressive. To enable our A Level students to succeed we offer: Science laboratories and specialist teaching rooms A fully equipped fitness suite Music practice rooms and recording studio Astro pitch, gymnasium, Sports Hall, climbing wall ICT suites, Wi-Fi throughout our site and the ability to register and use your own tablet/ laptop to research quickly and remain organised Space for personal tutoring and specialist advice to inspire and support you to realise your potential.

Achievement Our students’ successes can be seen in the results achieved, preparing students for university or employment.

At Sale Grammar School you will receive individual advice and guidance throughout your studies from a Personal Tutor, who really finds out about your strengths and achievements and is able to write a highly individualised and personal reference for university or employment. We offer information, advice and guidance from careers advisors, in addition, a wide range of opportunities, including fact-finding visits, help you discover a range of universities and the degree courses they have to offer. We encourage students to participate in extra-curricular opportunities, which helps students craft a high quality CV or personal statement for UCAS. Sale Grammar School provides a wide range of quality experiences, encouraging students to be ambitious in their life choices and has helped many of our students to access competitive courses at leading universities and employers.

Life You will enjoy the positive and purposeful atmosphere at Sale Grammar School.

The time and support to focus on your subjects makes for an enjoyable two years. Each day has five teaching sessions of one hour. The Sixth Form building is available from 8am until the end of the day and you are welcome to use the facilities to study with new classmates and friends. The mutual respect between students and teachers allows an understanding of learning to develop so that you can achieve your goals.

At Sale Grammar School we take great pride in our very personal approach to encouraging each student to aim high and reach their full potential. Success in exams alone does not prepare you to move from Sixth Form into Higher or Further Education, training or employment.
