New Beginnings
September meant the biggest change for our family since 2016 : we moved from the Sud Touraine to Brittany. We are part of a church planting team working on a brand new project in the city of Fougères. With roughly 70,000 people living in and around the area, the city and it’s suburbs currently only has one Protestant Church. As we are part of a larger vision to assure that there is a gospel presence near every person (1 for every 10,000 people), this makes Fougères more than ideal for the next series of plants. Our August edition detailed the move, so now that we are here: What is life like? What is new? Devo Thought “While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the Lord came to him a second time: “This is what the Lord says... Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things.” Jeremiah 33.1,3 The chapter continues, Judah will be judged, but the Lord will bring health and healing after. And for Jeremiah? It might seem unfair and unjust.
God gave Jeremiah a task, and Jeremiah had to fulfill that task. His “duty” was to just be faithful to God. We can ask often “Why me?” or “Are you there?” and these are good questions — Biblical questions. Take the time, however, to actually listen to the response from God. It might be surprising how he responds.
