St Andrews Lutheran College Strategic Plan 2025-27
Nurturing the Individual Empowering Lifelong Learners
As we step boldly forward to meet the needs of our students in the global future context, St Andrews Lutheran College is proud to present our Strategic Plan.
The plan is the result of significant collaboration between College Council and the Executive Leadership Team who share a passion and commitment for delivering educational opportunities that excite, challenge, and empower young people in their learning. Students, parents and staff contributed key insights at the commencement of the process as they reflected on their personal experiences and future needs. As is imperative it is driven by our Mission and underpinned by our Values.
In this age of globalisation, we should not underestimate the rate of exponential change and its impact on education and its purpose. Key forces of digitisation, automation, collaboration, the dominance of data and the reimagining of work are driving trends that dictate young people’s learning needs and shape our provision of education. If the
Towards 2027
education of the past has been about delivered wisdom, the education landscape of the future is about user-generated wisdom.
In meeting this challenge, we are committed to the provision of an exceptional Lutheran education that recognises and nurtures the distinct link between pastoral care, wellbeing and student learning outcomes. Our curriculum and pedagogy will empower students to be citizens of change, global stewards and community builders as they develop the sense of agency they need to reshape the world.
With this in mind, we have set three significant, overarching goals: growing our identity, building a strong, sustainable community which serves others and excellence in learning and teaching. Associated operational plans for the College will be monitored and reviewed regularly to ensure that actions and operations of the College are in alignment with the strategic intent. Since its commencement in 1993, St Andrews Lutheran College has been a significant leader in Christian
co-education, offering an educational environment where Christ is central, excellence is pursued, and relationships are valued. Our College motto, Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful) forged by our College’s founders continues to inform and guide our school. The plan is meaningfully developed to honour this foundational work and position us to deliver outstanding educational opportunities for our students as we work towards 2027.
St Andrews Lutheran College is an exciting place to be as we forge a path to the future and support our students in the development of their Godgiven gifts and abilities. We give thanks for God’s grace and the abundant blessings which gives shape to our present day and supports our future development.

VALUES
Service – ‘The Spirit of Selflessness’
We believe that we are to serve one another and the community. Selfless giving and making a difference in the lives of others by identifying and responding to their needs typifies the ‘Andrian’ spirit.
Community – ‘The Spirit of Belonging and Care’
St Andrews is a community with a shared sense of belonging, identity and connectedness. Living in and building community means that we treat people with love, respect and concern. We value the whole person, and show that each person really matters to us and our community.
Integrity – ‘The Spirit of Honour’
Integrity is at the core of how others see us and as such, we seek to hold fast to what is good, by being honest, fair, trustworthy, respectful and ethical in everything we do. Integrity means we do the right thing and make the right choices, even when no one is watching.
Growth – ‘The Spirit of Character’
A St Andrews Education focuses on developing the whole child. At St Andrews we strive to intentionally develop young men and women who are caring, compassionate, ethical, moral, resilient, courageous, disciplined and respectful.
Personal Bests – ‘The Spirit of Excellence’
The quest for personal bests in an education which is authentic, life-related and futureorientated. It encourages us each to strive for excellence, not just for ourselves alone, but to make a difference in the world. Achievement and continuous improvement are actively encouraged, supported, recognised and celebrated.
Faith and Grace ‘The Spirit of Hope’
We acknowledge God’s Word as the authority and guide for the community. In it Christ is revealed, providing the centre of all we do under God’s grace. Faith enables us to look forward with expectation and confidence, placing our trust in God’s provision.
Learning - ‘The Spirit of Inquiry’
Seeking knowledge, reason, wisdom and truth is core to a St Andrews Education. We believe the joy and challenge of ongoing learning is fundamental to life, and encourage inquiry and curiosity. Each member of our community is charged with the responsibility to learn to their fullest potential, and is called to be a lifelong learner.
More than a Good Education….An Education for Good.
At St Andrews we learn, not for ourselves alone, but for the good of others and the world.
We also strive to develop skills and attitudes that will help to create a more peaceful and sustainable world.

The learning environment promotes active engagement, risk taking, motivation and a strong learner voice.
ONGOING IMPROVEMENT AND INNOVATION
Improvement is guided by its values, vision and mission. Excellence is pursued through a culture of reflection, collaboration, innovation and creativity.
