Hello and welcome!

Hello! My name’s Sara and I’m a Concept Artist who’s especialized in Character Design!

In this very portfolio I’ve made especially for Cartoon Saloon, I’d like to show you all my work to say I think I’m experienced enough to join your Puffin Rock team!

I’ve divided this portfolio in three parts: The Jade Ikal character design, Terramorta character design and Cute Miscellanea! Let’s begin.

The Jade Ikal I started developing this project and its ideas during my studies in the Master’s Degree in Concept Art taught in Voxel School (Madrid, Spain).

Our goal was developing two characters for an animation series, following the needs the animators would have in a real production. Thus I worked on silhouette design, turn arounds, expression sheets, pose sheets and final presentation and rendering.

The Jade Ikal

IKAL He’s the main character in this story, as its title implies.

He’s an anthropomorphic lynx spider.

He’s the adventurous, sassy type, yet good hearted.

VINER He’s Ikal’s best friend, but his patience is very limited.

He’s a powerful humanoid shaman, commonly related to Wendigo legends and creatures.

THEIR RELATIONSHIP They’re real close friends, but both Ikal’s energetic behaviour and Viner’s short temper make it hard to coexist sometimes. The show would feature situations from their daily life together with a huge adventure far from home.

Terramorta Terramorta is an indie game developed by MadChicken Studios for PlayStation Talents and its annual indie-game contest for new developers in the videogame industry.

I’ve been working for Terramorta as its Lead Concept Artist (and Graphic Designer), and I’ve specially focused on its three main characters: Flint Skullwood, Pyro Jane and Tie Down Billy.

Terramorta will be avaliable for purchase by mid 2020.

Cute Miscellanea The title says it all!

I’ve already shown I can work on character design and all its technical requirements for both animation and videogames, but none of the characters I’ve shown so far would have anything to do with cute productions like Puffin Rock.

However, that doesn’t mean I can’t draw cute, fluffy animals! In this section I’ll show a couple examples of it, in form of sketches and vectorial illustration.

CUTE STYLES The most cute stuff I’ve drawn has been vectorial-style alpacas, but I’m used to making different animals and signs in different techniques (in digital means) for many purposes (HUDs, printing, merchandise...)
