The Nursing Program The B.S.N. Nursing Program at Saint Peter’s University will prepare students who are high school graduates (or transfer students from other colleges) for professional nursing practice. Students who successfully complete the program will be awarded the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degree. The program is supported by over 25 years of success with the University’s existing Nursing programs, which include the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing for those who have already attained a Bachelor’s degree, Bachelor of Science in Nursing for career R.N.s, the Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) and the Doctorate of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) degrees. All of the nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

The Nursing Program Faculty Saint Peter’s faculty members are scholars and expert teachers. Nursing Program With a curriculum founded in the Liberal Arts, rooted in Jesuit values, and focused on care of the individual, Saint Peter’s prepares nursing students for generalist practice in a wide range of settings where medical professionals are needed; from schools, surgical centers and clinics, to hospitals, the military and more. The BSN educated nurse is the best-prepared nurse to care for patients and their families, and to promote preventative healthcare.

Clinical Experiences Students begin their clinical experiences in their sophomore year with rotations in various nursing specialties (including Maternal Child, Mental Health, Pediatrics, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Geriatrics, and Community Health.) We use a wide variety of health care facilities for students’ clinical experiences as well as our Simulation Learning Skills Laboratory on campus.

Admission Requirements Every application is reviewed on an individual basis. Students are expected to have a solid preparation for college, with specific academic units. In addition to University admission requirements, applicants to the Pre-nursing program must have: • B or Higher in • Chemistry • Biology • 500+ SAT • Math • Critical Reading • TEAS* • 78% or Higher • 3.0+ GPA • 2 letters of recommendation *Students are allowed to take the TEAS exam twice, and it is recommended that individuals remediate between the first and second/final attempt on this exam. The highest of the two attempts will be reviewed for admission.
