Gratitude Gatherings
A Benefit Concert for Japan
Summer in Seattle, Picnics and Parties sponsored by St Mark's Stewardship Committee
Sunday, July 17, 3pm Cathedral Nave Proceeds will be donated to the Nippon Sei Ko Kai (Anglican Church of Japan, Diocese of Tohoku), through Episcopal Relief & Development, to help elders and migrants from the Philippines and other countries who are currently underserved by official Japanese relief programs. Performers include: The Tudor Choir (Doug Fullington, director), Ave Renaissance Women's Choir (Rebekah Gilmore, director), St. Mark's Gallery Choir (Brian Fairbanks, director), The Cathedral Trio (Brian Fairbanks, flute; Joyce Ramee, viola; Naomi Kato, harp), Naomi Shiga (organ), Sachiko Honda (koto), Sho Kato (flute). Co-sponsored by Saint Mark's Cathedral, The Episcopal Diocese of Olympia, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Tengu Sushi, Uwajimaya.
Cathedral Tour On the first Sunday of (most) months, join us for a tour of the Cathedral following the 11 a.m. service. Anyone interested in a look at the back rooms of the Cathedral, including the organ, are invited to join in. Meet at the Baptismal Font. Contact newcomers@ saintmarks.org.
Tour Guide training! Have you been around the Cathedral for more years than you'd like to count? We need your expertise to help provide Tours of the Cathedral to newcomers and guests. We currently offer Tours on the first Sunday of the month after the 11:00 am service, but are in need of additional tour guides. Guides are scheduled every three or four months and we'll provide training. Contact Carol Green, 206.523.2158 or newcomers@saintmarks.org.
Guests Needed! Back by popular demand, community gatherings to meet other members of the Cathedral community. Sign up in the back of the Nave to attend Gratitude Gatherings this summer. Picnics and parties, fun and fellowship. Multigenerational opportunities. Held at homes and locations throughout the area– pick one near you or cross-town!
John 2:7 "Fill the jars with water." We all know of Jesus' miracle of turning water into wine. We too have this life-giving opportunity. Here at Saint Mark’s we can participate in the Episcopal Relief and Development's campaign to fund construction of new wells for communities in Central America. We can make a cathedral-sized contribution toward the $76,000 goal for the Diocese of Olympia! Watch for featured fundraising events throughout the summer! More at www.saintmarks.org
Featured Event! Sat., July 16, 6—8:30 pm Diocesan House An evening of community, comedy, inspiration, food and wine is planned for Saint Mark’s family and friends. Nonalcoholic beverages will also be available at this adult event. Space is limited so make your reservations early. Donation is $30 per person in advance, or if you wait and pay at the door, admission will be $35. Reservations taken at the “Water into Wine” information table every Sunday through July 10.
